Two men that were trained by the HOFamer and NWA icon, Harley Race, were about to put on one of the best matches of the year. Trevor wearing a jacket in tribute to his trainer and mentor, Harley Race and you can see the comparison to Harley at Starrcade 83. Both men set out to make Harley proud and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that they most certainly did just that and it is a must see match for any fan. Trevor Murdoch put his career on the line and pulled off the impossible and ended Aldis’ 1,044 day reign as champion. Flair coming out at the end to raise Trevor’s hand in victory and saying you’re the man now, was truly special.
After 2 back to back, sold out shows in St. Louis, Corgan and the wrestlers of the NWA proved to the world that the NWA is far from dead and the future of the NWA name and legacy are in the right hands and as a professional wrestling fan it is a great time to be a wrestling fan.
