I’ve been a wrestling fan since 1998 and I'm very interested in the history of the business. Besides wrestling, I also enjoy comics and collectibles associated with comics, wrestling and overall pop culture particularly from the 80s and 90s. My articles are intended to provide history and an unbiased take on wrestling. I’ve been writing for the Wrestling Republic as an opinion writer since June 2021 and have been the Head Opinion Writer since February 2022. Co-Host of Sold Separately and frequent contributor/panelist to multiple WR podcasts.

At its core it has survived this long on a very simple formula characters and storytelling. You give the audience characters to care about and stories to be invested in involving these characters. This is a quote that I always go back to especially on the Wrestling Republic Daily Broadcast, so for those that I have…

Professional wrestling’s origins started as part of circus acts in the 1800s as both part strong man exhibitions and part art and showmanship. At the time no one in the audience knew for sure that it was showmanship and that the “random” guy in the crowd that challenged the wrestler were actually working together as part of the performance. Of course, there were times that legitimate fans challenged the wrestler, so the wrestler had to be able to handle himself, so the illusion wasn’t ruined. It was all about putting on a show, a spectacle and to entertain the audience.…

LEGACY The professional wrestling business has seen drastic changes over its long history from its origins as part of traveling circuses. Since 1948, the National Wrestling Alliance has been one of the constants in this industry in one form or another they have survived. From its heights as the collective of promotions all over the world that controlled the industry, often in controversial fashion mafia style by forcing any renegade promotion that attempted to enter an alliance member’s territory to regret it, often driving them out of the industry. However, as the years went by and alliance members become more…
