The year 2019 was PCO’s year and the momentum was there for him to do the one thing he had never done and that was to become world champion. A tournament was held to determine the number one contender and in the finals it would feature PCO vs Scurll on ROH TV Episode 425. Brody and Gordon would interfere on behalf of Marty but nothing would stop PCO, who won the hard fought match. This is a must see match and probably my favorite singles match PCO has had in ROH besides his world title match.
This would lead onto Final Battle where PCO would battle Rush for the ROH World Championship on Friday the 13th of all days. The poetic justice that a character like PCO would be on the verge of becoming world champ on that day was so perfect that they probably didn’t even plan for that storybook moment in advance. In a hard fought no DQ match but the crowd got exactly what they wanted and PCO at the age of 51 became the oldest world champion in ROH history and perhaps the oldest first time world champion in wrestling history.
It was truly amazing moment to witness the resurrection of PCO and for him to finally get a world championship that he truly deserved. Villain Enterprises and the ROH locker room came out to celebrate PCO. It was a short lived reign but it doesn’t matter because he didn’t need the title to be over he just needed to win it for vindication. The pandemic would happen and Villain Enterprises would disband after Scurll would be fired by ROH, however, PCO found a new tag partner with the very evil, very nice, Danhausen. It is a perfect pairing and I for one have enjoyed what these two characters are able to do together. To learn more about Danhausen, I suggest you see my article on him.
With ROH soon releasing all of their talents soon as they go on hiatus, the future of PCO is uncertain but he has been booked for a few GCW shows and he will likely be one of the lucky ones that a few companies will want his services along with his tag partner, Danhausen. Whether they stay together and go to the same company is unknown at this time.
One last thing, despite having such a long career, PCO has never had an action figure made of him ever. With ROH he received a microbrawler, a wrestling buddy and his first action figure from Figure Toy Company:
