Hogan Jumps To WCW
WCW President Eric Bischoff was trying to turn WCW around in 1994 and with the help of Flair, they were able to convince Hogan to not only return to wrestling but to jump ship to WCW. Prior to this, Hogan had left the WWF after a falling out with McMahon and decided to leave wrestling for acting. Make no mistake about it, WCW gave Hogan the two things he wanted most a lot of money for little work and power that he’d never be given in the WWF. Not only creative control in his own contract but it has been said Hogan had a say in other things in WCW creative as well, which Bischoff denies to this day, but Jericho detailed in one of his books, Hogan sat in during a meeting about the Jericho/Goldberg feud with Bischoff. Hogan really had nothing to do with it but was in the meeting anyway.

At the 1994 WCW Bash at the Beach, the dream match finally took place and to the surprise of no one, Hogan’s control over WCW, was beginning as he cleanly beat Flair to become the WCW World Champion. The two men would wrestle several more times in WCW but the man that was synonymous with the brand of the NWA/WCW was clearly being replaced as Hogan would go over 99% of the time and Flair’s role continued to be diminished more and more as Hogan was pushed as the face of the promotion. Here is a list of every significant match that Hogan and Flair had in the WWF and WCW in the 90s.
