In a recent survey conducted by Wrestling Republic, a staggering 85% of fans expressed their belief that LA Knight’s age should not be a concern for WWE.
The findings come after LA Knight, opened up about his age being a factor in WWE’s decision to initially repackage him as ‘Max Dupri’ and place him in a managerial role upon his main roster debut in 2022. At the time, Knight was 39 years old, and he has since turned 40.
During an interview with The Daily Mail, Knight shared his thoughts on the matter, stating, “I get the attention of the right people; ‘hey, who is this guy?’ but then the age thing comes up. That number came up, and it was like ‘well okay, maybe we make him a manager.'”
However, following Triple H taking over WWE creative from Vince McMahon in mid-2022, Knight was repackaged back into his original ‘LA Knight’ persona and resumed wrestling.
Are Fans Concerned About LA Knight’s Age?
Here at Wrestling Republic we decided to gauge public opinion on the issue by conducting a survey on our Instagram story, which received close to 500 votes. The results were surprising, with an overwhelming majority of 85% of fans expressing their belief that WWE should not be concerned about LA Knight’s age.
In recent weeks, LA Knight has garnered an increasing amount of support from the WWE universe. Fans have been chanting his name at live events, even when he is not scheduled to compete. The fans’ growing enthusiasm for Knight has fueled speculation about his future prospects in WWE.
On July 1st, LA Knight is scheduled to participate in WWE’s highly anticipated annual Money In The Bank ladder match. He will be facing six other competitors, vying for the opportunity to climb the ladder and secure a future title shot. While many fans are rooting for Knight’s victory in the match, it remains to be seen whether WWE’s creative team shares the same concerns about pushing him due to his age.
As the countdown to Money In The Bank begins, the survey results indicate that the majority of fans have faith in LA Knight’s ability to thrive in WWE, regardless of his age. Knight’s charismatic presence and growing popularity among fans may ultimately sway the decision-makers in WWE to overlook his age and continue to propel him to greater heights within the company. Only time will tell if the “Real Deal” will seize the coveted opportunity and prove his doubters wrong at Money In The Bank.
