Last month WWE’s biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, took place Live from the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. This was the first WWE event in over a year to feature fans in attendance, however things did not go as planned whatsoever. Just minutes into the broadcast the show had to be delayed due to weather related issues which resulted in WWE talent cutting promos backstage to fill the time while waiting for the show to resume. However many fans were left wondering if this was a plan WWE had already put in place over concern that something like this could happen considering it was forecast.
Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select has now reported that this entire situation was very chaotic and talent were given very little instruction before making their promos at the event, meaning that this entire situation really was as chaotic as it came across to viewers watching the event.
If you thought the weather delay promos from night one of WrestleMania were chaotic, they were. Talent were being grabbed and sent over to do promos with very little instruction or direction. In some instances, talent were approaching and making their own pitches, and we’ve heard that in all, WWE management were happy with the ability to kill time and the way talent handled thing. There was no real consideration to doing the matches backstage as teased.
