As seen during tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite, ‘Mr Mayhem’ Wardlow defeated Powerhouse Hobbs to win the TNT Championship for the third time in his AEW career.
Powerhouse Hobbs shocked the entire world when he alligned with QT Marshall and The Factory to defeat Wardlow and win the TNT Championship, which marked the first singles title win of his AEW career.
After dethroning Wardlow to claim his first AEW singles title, Hobbs successfully defended his TNT Championship three times before finding himself in a collision course with former champion Wardlow once again.
As announced during last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, the reigning TNT Champion was set to put his title on the line against ‘Mr Mayhem’ on tonight’s show.
After the shocking reveal that Wardlow is now alligned with Arn Anderson, the challenger made his way to the ring to confront Hobbs one more time and aimed to regain the TNT Championship. And, after receiving some help from Arn Anderson and Penta El Zero Miedo to even up the odds against QT Marshall and the rest of The Factory, Wardlow finally got his redemption and became the new TNT Champion.
It is important to mention that, with this win, Wardlow became the third superstar to win the TNT Championship in three different occasions throughout his AEW career. Additionally, he ended Powerhouse Hobbs’ title run 43 days after dropping the title to him during the March 8th edition of AEW Dynamite.
Even though Wardlow has achieved another milestone in his AEW career, he may not have so much time to celebrate this huge title win. And the reason for that is because he may already have another tough test in the likes of Christian Cage and Luchasaurus looming in the horizon.
