It seems that Kairi Sane’s contract with WWE has come to an end, leaving her a free agent.
As reported, Sane removed all references from WWE from her social media, this fuelled speculation that she would be leaving the company and look at other opportunities. Now, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) has stated that Sane’s contract with the company has now expired and she is a free agent.
Reportedly, WWE wanted Sane to remain with the company and return to in-ring action, however Sane has stated before she does not want to have to live in the United States, as well with the global pandemic would make travel from her home in Japan to the USA difficult. Sane had returned to Japan in 2020 to be with her new husband but did continue to work for WWE as an ambassador in Japan as well as act as Japanese commentary for WWE PPV.
However, it seems that Japanese based female promotion Stardom is wishing to bring Sane back into the company. While nothing has been set-up, in February this year, Sane has asked WWE if she could be apart of Stardom’s big event but was denied by the WWE.
It is unsure if Sane will either venture to a new promotion or return to the place that made her a star.
