CM Punks contract to be bought out by AEW after backstage fight with The Elite at All Out per Dave Meltzer.
During the post show media scrum at All Out CM Punk would shoot on The Elite and Hangman Page.
The Elite then went to CM Punks locker room which resulted in a fight.
Punks friend Ace Steel would also be close by and would join the fight.
Ace Steel reportedly bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair, AEW then suspended everyone involved in the fight.
Steel was fired by AEW which Meltzer suggested would make Punk walk out the company.
AEW fans would get some hope of all parties returning when CM Punk and The Elite all appeared in video packages.
But now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that AEW is in talks to buy out Punks contract which would put an end to his run in the company.
Meltzer has reported “Those with close knowledge of the situation said they are in talks with Punk about a buy-out of the remaining years of his contract which tells you that they are not looking to bring him back. The hold-up right now is said to be the non-compete period.” (H/T Ringside News)
What does this mean for CM Punks future in pro wrestling?
The argument over the non-compete clause would suggest that Punk is WWE bound.
In CM Punks infamous pipe bomb promo he said “and I’d like to think that maybe this company will be better after Vince McMahon is dead. But the fact is, it’s going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family.” (H/T Genius)
So, maybe Punk has changed his mind about a Triple H ran WWE or he may be leaving the wrestling industry once again.
