Repercussions have been handed out to The Elite following the post All Out locker room fight whilst CM Punk’s fate is still in question.
CM Punk sparked controversy following All Out during the post show media scrum where he called out The Elite, Adam Page and Colt Cabana for what he believes to have been unprofessional behaviour. Punk in the media scrum claimed The Elite were leaking falsehoods to the media about Punk’s backstage behaviour aswell as many other things.
This in turn lead to a violent locker room conflict between CM Punk and The Elite. Reports state that The Elite stormed into CM Punk’s private locker room and a fight emerged out of this. Punk is believed to have thrown the first punch towards Matt Jackson, into what he construed as a 3 on 1 threat. Punk’s long time friend and trainer Ace Steel came to Punk’s defence, reportedly throwing a chair at Nick Jackson that resulted in Nick being knocked out and biting Kenny Omega. Unsurprisingly, consequences have emerged out of this, with numerous AEW personal being suspended.
Who Has Been Suspended?
Sports Illustrated reports that suspensions have been handed out to everyone that was involved in the locker room fight. The list of suspended personal include Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Pat Buck, Michael Nakazawa, Brandon Cutler and Christopher Daniels. On the CM Punk and Ace Steel side of things, Sports Illustrated have stated that sources believe they will either be suspended like other participants or will no longer be with AEW by the end of Wednesday.
Sports Illustrated add that CM Punk met with Tony Khan on Tuesday to discuss how a potential exit could be handled, although no exit as of now has been confirmed or reported.
CM Punk won back his AEW World championship against Jon Moxley and The Elite became the inaugural AEW Trio’s Champions at All Out. This undoubtedly has put Tony Khan in an awkward place, especially since he has set a precedent that physical conflict will result in suspension following Eddie Kingston’s and Sammy Guevara’s backstage altercation.
There have been numerous reports and rumours of AEW locker room strife, but CM Punk’s controversial press conference undoubtedly put the biggest light on the gaping wounds and division between various talent.
