Kris Statlander is going to have to take time off once again after injuring her knee on AEW Dark.
AEW has started to rebound after its unfortunate string of injuries in recent months. Stars like CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Jungle Boy were all forced to sit out but have since returned.
Just in time too, as AEW is heading into their next big yearly pay-per-view, All Out. Unfortunately, the injury woes have not subsided just yet as now Kris Statlander will need time off.
While wrestling on this week’s episode of AEW Dark against Sierra, Statlander appeared to land awkwardly on her leg. She delivered a high kick to her opponent to finish the match, but there was a clear moment when her leg buckled.
She was seen after the match on crutches, leading many to speculate about the injury’s severity. Kris confirmed the worst today when she announced on Twitter that she has injured her right knee similarly to her left.
Fans will remember that Statlander was out for almost a year after tearing her ACL in June of 2020. She returned in March of last year and was on arguably the biggest run of her career when this unfortunate incident happened.
No timetable is known as of yet, but there has already been an outpouring of support from fans and AEW and WWE wrestlers. We here at Wrestling Republic wish Kris Statlander a speedy recovery.
