Former WWE NXT superstar Oney Lorcan announced via twitter on Friday that he is taking a break from professional wrestling.
Lorcan who now goes by name Biff Busick took to twitter posting about his current status in the business. Busick has not wrestled for any promotion since he last faced Jon Moxley at GCW Bloodsport 8 last month.
Lorcan stated that he has decided to take some time off from pro wrestling and apologized for not replying to booking related inquiries. He followed it up, retweeting a quote – “Our character is what we do when we think no one is looking.” This might be an indication from Lorcan’s side regarding his future.
Lorcan is most commonly known for his time in NXT and NXT UK brands where he wrestled in tag-team division with Danny Burch as his partner. The duo won tag-titles on October 21, 2020 edition of NXT defeating Breezango in process with help of Pat McAffe.
All looked to be going well for them and they were set to become new gold standard of NXT tag division. But they had to vacate titles in March 2021, when Burch suffered a shoulder injury which would rule him out of action.
Lorcan requested his release while he wrestled on 205 live and also on NXT, as a singles competitor. He finally had his release granted on 4th of November 2021.
He made a return to independent circuit, wrestling for promotions like Beyond Wrestling, Prestige and GCW. Probably the most highlighted match of his post WWE career was his latest one against Jon Moxley in GCW. Moxley won after he knocked out a blood drained ‘Biff Busick’ with a knee to face.
It will be interesting to see when Oney would make his return to wrestling.
