As per Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter, Roman Reigns is out of tonight’s WWE Day 1 pay-per-view event due to COVID-19 protocols. This, of course, has changed tonight’s card as Roman Reigns was originally scheduled to defend his WWE Universal Championship in a match against long time rival, Brock Lesnar. Instead, WWE has officially announced that Brock Lesnar will be added to the WWE Championship match which includes WWE Champion Big E, and challengers Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley.
This will be the first time Brock will be competing in singles competion alongside E, Owens, and Lashley, and the first time he’s stepped in the ring with Seth Rollins since 2019. Brock Lesnar also hasn’t competed in a WWE Championship match since WrestleMania 36 in 2020, when he dropped the title to Drew McIntyre.
Update. As I am writing this article, Roman Reigns has officially announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.
We here at Wrestling Republic wish Roman Reigns a speedy recover and we hope to see him back on TV as soon as possible!
