WWE’s annual Royal Rumble event was held this past Saturday at the Dome at America’s Center, and the reception to the event has been polarizing. As learned from PWInsider earlier today, it would seem that the staff and talent feel a certain way about how things transpired, and morale is said to have been down after the event. A locker room source stated to PWInsider that a big reason for this was the constant changes to plans. The talent had said,
“We were all in a whirlwind. Just as you had your role and spots down, everything started over and over, and now most of us were back to square one. It changed again and again and again. It wasn’t an easy night even before we hit the ring.” (H/T PWInsider.com)
It has been said that the Men’s Rumble match had upwards of 20 changes made. The Women’s match was said to be no different as the female talent experienced similar issues. Brock Lesnar went on to win the Men’s Rumble match as a surprise entrant. This came after he lost his WWE Championship to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night thanks to Roman Reigns’s interference and Paul Heyman’s betrayal. Ronda Rousey made a surprising return after almost three years away to win the Women’s Rumble match.
