WWE and professional wrestling as a whole is known to be wildly unpredictable, so for absolutely no good reason I have decided to give myself the impossible task of predicted the WrestleMania 44 card, 5 year before the show happens!
This article only takes into consideration current professional wrestlers, but in reality it’s extremely likely athletes and performers who are currently not in the wrestling industry will join and become stars within WWE in five years time. For example, five years ago Omos had not even stepped in a wrestling ring, and this past year at WrestleMania he took on Brock Lesnar.
Without further ado, here is my predicted WrestleMania 44 card.
Hosts: Pretty Deadly

I’m aware many wrestling fans aren’t fans of there being a ‘host’ for a wrestling show, but to me, for WrestleMania it makes sense. Pretty Deadly proved their entertainment value during their run in NXT, and now on the main roster I believe they will continue to prove it on a bigger stage. Considering both men are young, I could certainly see them still being around in five years time, and they’d make a lot of sense as hosts for the show.
Night One:
Seth Rollins w/Nathan Frazier vs Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams (IC) (45 Minute Iron Man)

Despite Carmelo Hayes still currently being in WWE’s developmental brand NXT, it’s clear to anyone who watches him that he has massive potential in WWE. I first watched Hayes back when he was known as ‘Christian Castonova’ what must be around five years ago now. From the first time I saw him, I said he was the next big thing. I even said it during an interview with him in 2020.
By WrestleMania 44, Seth Rollins will be 41 years old, so the story going into this match should be Hayes claiming Rollins can’t go to the level he use to, and isn’t the workhorse he once was. The two would agree for the match to be a 45 minute Iron man match, with Rollins trying to prove he is still at the top of his game. Seth Rollins former student Nathan Frazer would in his corner, while Trick Williams would be in the corner of Carmelo Hayes, as why on earth would you ever separate them!
Gigi Dolin & Cora Jade vs Liv Morgan & Nikkita Lyons vs Tiffiny Staton & Jacy Jayne vs Zoey Stark & Indi Hartwel (Raw Womens Tag)

WWE have such a stacked young women’s division across all brands right now, and if they are all still around in 5 years time, it would not possible to fit them all on the same card in singles action, so in typical WWE fashion, I imagine some of them will be thrown in a multi woman tag team match. Despite this, I do believe the state of women’s tag team wrestling will be thriving in five years time, and therefore there will be two sets of women’s tag team titles. One for Raw, and one for SmackDown. I’ve always thought Cora Jade and Gigi Dolin have the look to be a good tag team together, which is why I am predicting they will walk into the match as the Raw Women’s Tag team champion.
Austin Theory Vs Dominik Mysterio (Hair Vs Mask)

Austin Theory and Dominik Mysterio are two of the top young singles stars on the main roster right now, and I believe they will be top talents within the company by Mania 44. In five years time I believe Dominik Mysterio will have retired his father, turning face in the process, taking on the Mysterio mask and gimmick. While the future of Theory is hard to predict, I do believe he will still be a heel…and for the sake of this match still have hair, making him want to unmask Dominik Mysterio in typical heel fashion. This would then lead to Theory putting his hair on the line in a hair Vs mask match against Dominik Mysterio.
Dunne & Bate vs Owens & Zayn (Raw Tag)

If you haven’t read my recent article on why WWE should repackage Butch, you should go read it, but to sum it up I believe Dunne should turn on Sheamus, forming a new faction called ‘The Bloody Bruiserweights’ alongside Ridge Holland and Tyler Bate. By WrestleMania 44, I imagine this group would have broken up, but ahead of WrestleMania, Dunne and Bate would reunite and win the tag titles together for the first time. The career path of Dunne & Bate reminds me a lot of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Both teams knew each other from a young age, and have followed each other throughout their careers. Presuming Triple H is still in charge of creative at this point, I see this being a dream match for him.
MJF vs Cody Rhodes (World) (Title vs Career)

Almost weekly I go back and forth on whether it not I believe MJF will be jumping ship to WWE in the ‘bidding war of 2024’, but as of writing this, I feel he will. MJF’s first major feud in AEW was against Cody Rhodes, with MJF ensuring that Cody Rhodes would never win the AEW Championship. By WrestleMania 44, Cody Rhodes I believe that Cody Rhodes already would have ‘finished the story’ and won the WWE Championship, however, still not won the World Heavyweight Championship belt.
In 2028 I believe MJF will be World Heavyweight champion. MJF, in typical MJF fashion, would cowardly refuse to face his former mentor, Cody Rhodes, for his entire WWE run to this point, and eventually only let Cody face him if he put his career on the line, making the match Title Vs Career, with MJF determined to end the career of his former mentor.
Sasha Banks Vs Bayley Vs Becky Lynch Vs Charlotte Flair (SmackDown Women’s)

I think Sasha Banks will return to WWE…but not any time soon. I think Banks will return to the company at WrestleMania 43, before working a part time schedule for the year as Womens champion, finishing up with a fatal four way against the other 3 women that made up WWE’s Four Horsewomen. This would be the conclusion of a storyline that would be over a decade old at this point. The four women that changes women’s wrestling forever would face off one final time in a fatal four way, main evening night one of WrestleMania 44.
Night Two
Omega & Bucks vs Sikoa & Usos (Trios)

When the Elite (Kenny Omega & Young Bucks) first formed AEW alongside Cody Rhodes & Tony Khan in 2019, on Being The Elite when they were teasing the announcement of AEW, they said ‘we could always go the other place later’, and fast forward a few years Cody Rhodes did make that jump back to WWE, and my gut tells me Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks will also be heading to WWE before their careers are over, even if it’s just for a little bit. As we all know, the trio recently signed new deals with AEW, and while the contract length hasn’t been officially announced, I’d expect they are 3-4 year deals, meaning they’d be free agents by WrestleMania 44.
I also believe by 2027 WWE will have followed in AEW’s footsteps and announced Trios titles. While it’s hard to really predict the future of The Bloodline, I do believe Solo Sikoa will at least eventually be back with his brothers, The Usos. Outside of the New Day, who unfortunately I don’t believe will all still be in action in 2027, The Usos have been the most dominant tag team in WWE this past decade, while The Young Bucks have been the most dominant tag team outside of WWE. Adding Solo Sikoa, who is sure to be a major player in WWE by this point, and Kenny Omega, who’s name speaks for itself, this trios match would certainly be a WrestleMania worthy match, and a great start to night two.
Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn Vs Ava Raine & Nia Jax (SmackDown Womens Tag)

Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn recently were called up to SmackDown in the WWE draft, and while WWE does have a tendency to split up female tag teams, I really hope Fyre & Dawn are the exception. The duo have phenomenal chemistry and could dominate the women’s tag team division together for years to come. As for Ava Raine, I certainly see her being a major part of the women’s division in five years time, after all, she is the daughter of The Rock, so the talent is certainly in her blood.
While Nia Jax currently is no longer with WWE, I do see her making a return, even if it just is for this feud in five years time. Jax is cousins with Ava Raine’s father, The Rock, so the two share the same bloodline and have several photos together on social media. I’d be shocked if the two didn’t push to team together at some point in the future, so my wild prediction is that this will happen at WrestleMania 44
Grimes vs Woods vs Omos Vs Gunther Vs Ricky Starkz vs Axiom (US) (Ladder Match)

In my opinion, despite a slow start on the main roster Cameron Grimes will go ‘toooo the moooon’ in WWE, and be a top midcard star for the next decade. He has a lot of potential and age on his side. After all, he’s reinvented himself four times in his career already. As for Xavier Woods, by 2027 I imagine both Kofi Kingston & Big E will be done in wrestling, so Woods will be the final member of The New Day remaining, and he will be competing as a singles star in the midcard.
While it’s possible Omos could become a main event star, I’m yet to see that potential, so my safe presumption is he will still be on the mid card at this time. As for Gunther, I see him being someone who will hold the World or WWE Championship a couple of times, but will mainly be someone who will be a top contender for the major champion, and then drop back to the upper midcard when he isn’t needed.
Ricky Starkz is another name who is currently in AEW who I see eventually making his way to WWE. The AEW star is close friends with many wrestlers in WWE, and is even dating Bayley, making a future move even more likely. I’ve been a fan of ‘Axiom’ for a few years now, since I first saw him wrestle in WxW as ‘A-Kid’. He’s always been super talented in the ring. I’m still not sure what my thoughts on ‘Axiom’ are. The name and entrance are cool, but the character itself just doesn’t click for me, at least yet anyway. However I do still have a lot of hope for him, as I think he could be in a Ricochet like role on the main roster.
As WrestleMania can’t have unlimited matches, there’s usually a multi man match on the main card at Mania to get a few extra names on the card, and these 6 men facing off in a ladder match for the United States Championship would certainly be intriguing.
Street Profits Vs Creed Brothers (SmackDown Tag)

The idea of the Street Profits teaming together in 2027 might be surprising to some people, based off how WWE seem to be building Montez Ford up for a singles run, but I believe while Ford will get singles success within the company, he will stay alongside Angelo Dawkins while doing so. I see 0 need to split the duo up, they are so great together. They can have singles matches and success while remaining together, and that’s the way I would book it. Then when the time is right and a big tag team feud is needed, they can team together. Now that they are aligning themselves alongside Bobby Lashley as well, it’ll certainly keep the team feeling fresh together.
As for The Creed Brothers, to me they are the team in NXT with the most potential right now. In some areas they are still green, but they have massive potential. In 2027 I could see this being a major tag team feud that can only be settled on the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania.
Rhea Ripley Vs Roxanne Perez vs (Women’s World Title)

Despite being a former NXT womens champion, people seem to forget that Roxanne Perez is only 21 years old. As long as she stays healthy, I can’t see a situation where she wouldn’t be a huge star in the Women’s division. As for Rhea Ripley, she is only 26, and is already breaking into the mainstream with her look trending on social media almost every week. I see her being the face of the women’s division in WWE in a year or two. These two women facing off in a championship match at WrestleMania would make a lot of sense, and I’d personally love to see it, and one day, I truly it’s almost certain we will.
Grayson Waller Vs A Celebrity

I’m not even going to try to predict who will become or still be a celebrity in five years time, this article is hard enough without that, however based on recent WrestleMania’s, I will predict we will see at least one celebrity competing at the event, and who better to put them up against than Grayson Waller. I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon of people comparing Grayson Waller to The Miz, but I do believe Waller will eventually fill the ‘plug & play’ role The Miz currently does perfectly. If he keeps his current ‘social media viral’ gimmick, or even just adjusts with the time, him being involved and facing a babyface celebrity would make a lot of sense.
Bron Breakker Vs Roman Reigns (WWE Unified) (Once In An Era)

Era Vs Era. New Vs Old. Bron Breakker Vs a returning Roman Reigns would be a blockbuster match which is only suitable for WrestleMania. In five years time I see Roman Reigns having very little, if any, involvement in WWE, with him going to Hollywood and landing top roles as an actor. Meanwhile I see Bron Breakker being built as the new face of the WWE, as it’s clear that’s the position WWE are building him for down in NXT. Breakker vs Reigns would be this generations version of Cena Vs Rock, and would certainly be a big deal if done right. The passing of the torch, on the grandest stage of them all.
Thank you for reading this article if you have gotten this far, and I hope you can see the method behind my madness with my five year early WrestleMania 44 predictions.
