On Monday Night Raw, Triple H announced the creation of a brand new World Heavyweight Championship for the company.
This new championship will be up for grabs at the WWE PLE Night of Champions on May 27, 2023. The World Heavyweight Championship will be awarded to either Raw or Smackdown, depending on which brand drafts Roman Reigns in the WWE draft.
Reigns currently holds the Undisputed Universal Championship, and whichever brand drafts him will receive his championship, while the other brand will receive the new World Heavyweight Championship.
The belt is designed with a stunning gold look, and it features the WWE logo in the middle, with the World Heavyweight Championship inscription around it. The belt design bears a small resemblance to the original World Heavyweight Championship, which was in use from 2002 to 2013.
The championship is expected to be defended more frequently than Reigns’ Undisputed Championship, giving WWE fans a chance to see more intense matches between top superstars of either Raw or Smackdown.
Triple H also took the opportunity to state that the new World Heavyweight Champion will not demand to be “acknowledged,” which seems to imply that they will be a more humble and grounded wrestler than Reigns, who has made “acknowledge me” one of his catchphrases in recent years.
The announcement of the new championship has generated a lot of buzz among the WWE Universe, and the anticipation is building up for the WWE PLE Night of Champions. It is expected for all of the WWE superstars and the WWE universe to have Night of Champions marked on their calendar!
The creation of a new World Heavyweight Championship is a significant development for the WWE. It adds another layer of competition between Raw and Smackdown, and it will give the company’s superstars more opportunities to showcase their skills and talent.
The upcoming Night of Champions PLE has just gained some buzz to it and the entire universe is eager to see who the first superstar will be to hold this title.
