As a whole the show has a good flow and is exciting throughout most of it.Damian Priest and Jacob Fatu could be on a collision course during the Royal Rumble as they were budding heads and meeting for the first time. Michin getting the win by DQ when the match was already having the last chance aura is an odd choice. Liv and Raquel once again stand tall over the tag champions and Nia Jax has finally attacked Tiffany.
WWE Smackdown January 31 2025 is the last Smackdown of January and the last one before The Royal Rumble. Scheduled for tonight is Kevin Owens’ getting an interview with Joe Tess similar to last week’s with Cody. A rematch between Carmelo Hayes and Jimmy Uso. Michin’s potentially last chance to defeat Chelsea Green for the US championship. After getting multiple wins against the tag champs, Liv Morgan faces Naomi. With tensions rising between teams in the division, DIY and Pretty Deadly team up to take on MCMG and Los Garza.
AMAZING Kevin Owens Joe Tess Interview: WWE Smackdown January 31 2025 Opening Promo
Joe would introduce KO after admitting that Kevin deserved the same chance to talk and speak his mind like Cody did last week. Kevin would choose not to accept the apology and didn’t want to respect Joe in the ring. His motive for appearing tonight was to retrieve the championship and take it off the hanger. Which he proceeded. As he was about to leave the ring, CM Punk arrives.
The crowd chanting “Holy Sh*t” for these two in the ring together. Punk started off by apologizing for making Kevin think that he was overlooking him. Saying that when he wins and if Kevin wins that maybe the main event of Wrestlemania could be Kevin Vs Punk. But also if it was that Kevin would have a short reign with the championship.
Throwing more insults like his rumble title shot record and him losing to Logan Paul. Claiming that Kevin is manipulating his best friend to try to help him win. Telling Kevin he has to survive an angered Cody at the Rumble. Kevin is invited back into the ring but doesn’t. He walks down the stairs and to the back with the crowd booing him.

GOOD Carmelo Hayes Vs Jimmy Uso: WWE Smackdown January 31 2025 First Match
This is a fine match but it didn’t get the same amount of time as the one from a few weeks ago. That match got time to develop and get going. Big Jim and Melo have their moments in this match like the armdrag neckbreaker off of the top rope. They have really good chemistry together but this match really didn’t get that second or third gear. A basic TV match with a roll up for a finish.
Results: Jimmy Uso by Pinfall via Roll Up

ABOVE AVERAGE Chelsea Green Vs Michin – WWE Women’s United States Championship Match:
What are we doing here? Yes it makes sense for Piper Niven to help her friend Chelsea. It also makes sense for B Fab to even the odds. But this is an alright match, nothing special and while it was being hyped as Michin’s last chance. It’s a DQ finish with Chelsea trying to evade and leave the ring before using Michin’s kendo.
Results: Michin by DQ via Kendo Stick Usage

AMAZING Damian Priest Promo:
Talking about his journey from wanting his name to live forever. To being the betrayer and the betrayed. Damian talks about what is next being on Smackdown now. Saying he wants to secure his spot at mania with the Rumble.
Jacob Fatu would come out and talk about how he is unchained, All Gas no brakes. Now he and Tama Tonga run Smackdown. Telling Damian there are two options, Lay down or get laid out. Damian wasn’t scared and said if they were both from the streets why were they still talking. Damian hits Tama with a superkick before Jacob and him get physical. The two gain control but LA Knight makes the save. Knight would set up a challenge for later in the show for a tag match.

AMAZING DIY and Pretty Deadly Vs MCMG and Los Garza:
All dynamics in the tag division are on display. Los Garza and MCMG not having trust with each other as they are tagging themselves into the match, time and time again. Pretty Deadly and DIY budding heads with Gargano being fans of the two and Ciampa not liking them one bit. Fun sequences between all times. Angel getting his tearaway pants spot got a fun pot. The crowd was into it by the end of the match. Los Garza and Elektra leaving before Ciampa booted one of Pretty Deadly. MCMG get the win as Ciampa is rolled up by Sabin. Gargano being held by Shelley.
Results: Chris Sabin by Pinfall via Roll Up On Ciampa

GREAT Naomi Vs Liv Morgan:
Liv is just really good at psychology and I say it everything. From her facial expressions to how she sells damage. Naomi is good with kicks and they have fun exchanges. With a callback to a match many many years ago. Raquel would attempt to aid Liv but Bianca stopped her. Naomi ends up getting the win with a jackknife cover.
Results: Naomi by Pinfall via Jackknife

GOOD Andrade Vs The Miz:
A fun little match that gives Andrade a nice win. There are fun moments like The Miz reaching in his arsenal. Doing athletic things like a hurricanrana and a tilt a whirl DDT. Andrade gets a nice spanish fly on Miz. Ultimately the spinning back elbow gets the job done here.
Results: Andrade by Pinfall via Spinning Back Elbow

GOOD Tiffany Stratton Promo: WWE Smackdown January 31 2025 Last Segment
Tiffany Stratton continues to show confidence, saying now everyone knows she is championship material. She claims it will always be Tiffy Time so the winner doesn’t matter. Candice LeRae came out calling Tiffany jealous for Nia liking her as a partner more. Saying that she made Nia angry. Saying she is going to be in the Rumble. Tiffany would corner Candice but move out of the way as Nia collides with LeRae in the corner. Nia ends up standing tall and helping Candice back up.

GREAT Damian Priest and LA Knight Vs Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu: WWE Smackdown January 31 2025 Main Event
This is a fun tag match. Knight gets his moments like his springboard elbow drop. Tama and Jacob get some time to control the pacing of the match. Knight would take out Jacob into the timekeeper area. Damian gets the win with the South Of Heaven but Jacob gets back up and lays out Damian to close Smackdown.
