WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 is a very solid show for the first show post European tour. With fun matches like DIY Vs MCMG, Rey Fenix Vs Nathan Frazer, and the Last Monster Standing for Braun and Jacob Fatu. The show also revolves around Punk’s eventual reveal of his favor which was set up in the beginning and dependent on Roman’s arrival. New Number one contenders. A messy face to face promo and an emotional send off for Kevin Owens as he has to pull out of Wrestlemania. As a whole it's a show that flies by and is very fun with the Chicago crowd.
WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 brings the road to Wrestlemania back to the United States. From Chicago, after the cliffhanger of Punk’s favor not being the main event, what is next for Roman, Seth and Punk? Rey Fenix makes his WWE debut. A night filled with Number One Contenders matches. Both teams are former tag team champions, DIY Vs MCMG. And Last Monster Standing, Braun Strowman Vs Jacob Fatu winner gets LA Knight at Wrestlemania.
AMAZING CM Punk Promo: WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 Opening Promo
This is a rather nothing burger of a segment in terms of doing anything major. It sets up one thing and that is when Roman arrives, Punk is ready to inform them both later on. The emotion is there and it’s still a very good and well put together promo. Punk has a Chicago crowd behind him and he gets to show his loyalty and his appreciation towards his crowd. Heyman’s arrival was great and we got ECW chants. Paul tells Punk that Roman isn’t there but Paul wants to know the favor sooner rather than later. Punk informs Paul that he will tell him and Roman at the same time.

GREAT Rey Fenix Vs Nathan Frazer: WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 First Match
Aside from the clear and obvious botch from Nathan Frazer, this is a very well done match. Someone that could easily match the athleticism of Rey Fenix. That’s what this match was, someone who could hang with Rey’s best and his ability. Frazer gets his moments like his superplex and final cut combo. Almost nearly hitting a phoenix splash on Rey Fenix. Fenix got to walk the ropes and hit his running kick. Nathan got a great nearfall and they captured the crowd, while Rey had a hot Chicago crowd for him. Rey being able to use his twisting muscle buster is a great finisher. The emotion in Rey Fenix’s face when the match finished was infectious.
Results: Rey Fenix by Pinfall via Mexican Muscle Buster

GOOD LA Knight Vs Tama Tonga:
This is a fine little match, the crowd loves LA Knight. It’s very clear. Solo Sikoa has several attempts to interfere on behalf of Tama Tonga. LA Knight ends up hitting a BFT to get the win. Nothing we didn’t expect from this match, but nothing to go see.
Results: LA Knight by Pinfall via BFT

BELOW AVERAGE Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton Face To Face:
This is awkward. There is no other way to say this. A promo that has Charlotte trying to say the same thing. That picking Tiffy was a charity case. Then things take a turn for the worse when Tiffany compares Charlotte at 25 years old to her now. Making a shot at her being an alcoholic. Tiffany also saying that at Wrestlemania Charlotte will be all alone just like she is now. Mentioning 0-3 in her marriages. This is messy. Charlotte clearly can’t talk because of the Chicago crowd, doesn’t get a word in. This was Tiffany Stratton getting her lick back compared to the recorded interview from a few weeks ago. The promo as a whole is high school / reality show type shots with no progression of any story when we are 3 weeks from wrestlemania. What Tiffany said does nothing for anything. Scripted or not, this was a mess.

GREAT DIY Vs MCMG – Number One Contendership:
This isn’t as good as a few of the ones they had in the past. The crowd really didn’t care too much. By the end of it the crowd was somewhat into it. With DIY trying to do what they have been doing to beat DIY before and thats do an underhanded tactic. They fail here with Chris Sabin dodging Ciampa’s attack in the corner. There is good moments in the match with MCMG getting the win. Having a face off with the Street Profits as DIY are mad about the result.
Results: Chris Sabin by Pinfall via Exposed Turnbuckle Assisted Roll Up

SQUASH B Fab Vs Naomi:
Squash match as it should. Jade attacked Naomi before the match and after. Laying her out with a boot before Nick Aldis announced that at Wrestlemania it is Naomi Vs Jade Cargill.
Results: Naomi by Pinfall via Double Arm Trapped Single Knee Kneeling Lungblower
UNRATED Kevin Owens Promo:
I am not rating this. This is a non kayfabe promo. Kevin Owens admits that its his time that his body has some wear. Telling the WWE Universe he has to go have a neck surgery after about four months of issues. He isn’t taking Wrestling for granted and knows not too. Kevin ends up leaving the ring as Randy comes out. Randy is told by Nick Aldis his mania match is off, Aldis eats an RKO. best wishes to KO.
AMAZING Braun Strowman Vs Jacob Fatu – Last Man Standing Match: WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 Main Event
This is actually a very fun match. Very enjoyable hoss fight with the LMS stipulation. From Braun Strowman hitting the Strowman express through the barricade. To a superplex through some tables in the crowd. Both men show the damage and are great at selling in this match. Jacob hitting a hip attack to send Braun through the table was a great finish. Braun almost beating the count protects him in defeat. Fatu is going to Wrestlemania!
Results: Jacob Fatu by 10 Count via Running Hip Attack Through A Table

MUST WATCH Punk’s Favor Reveal: WWE Smackdown April 4 2025 Last Segment
The opening promo set up for this. CM Punk finally admitted his favor. Paul Heyman has to be in his corner at Wrestlemania. Heyman tells Roman no that he couldn’t go back on his word. Roman gets angered after blowing off the favor like it was nothing and as if Heyman was way too loyal. Paul Heyman’s emotions are such a highlight of this. Even crying on command here. Seth enjoys the show and watches Roman get angered as he predicted that Roman wouldn’t like the favor.
