WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event May 24 2025 continues to be a tough special to watch. When it comes to the pacing and the overall structure, they nailed it in January. With a five match card we were back to the majority of the match feeling rushed. Having major chunks of the matches being taken out because of ads. The fact that Jey Uso got half an entrance televised and the main event was so rushed to finish. It was tough to digest Cody Rhodes’ return as it was so quick, rushed and the ending was two lines. The wrestling was solid. Seth’s tag match and the steel cage match truly delivered great matches.Bronson Reed returned to help Seth Rollins. Drew McIntyre was taken out with a Conchairto. John Cena had a backstage segment with Jey Uso that was a vital tease for the main event. John Cena tried to help Logan, and Cody Rhodes returned to set up a star studded tag team match for MITB. Things were advanced and there were intriguing moments for storyline advancement its just as a whole such a tough show to watch with the ad breaks.

The tough part is judging this with the ad breaks. As a whole this is a bit of a sprint, it starts hot with a brawl. Moves towards the heels gaining control, Bron getting his apron jumping clothesline to Sami. The crowd very much is top notch for all men involved and are receptive to great moments like the heels controlling Sami. Punk getting a hot tag and going on a run. Its well structured and things get interesting with Sami is stopped by Paul Heyman. As the ref is starting to eject him, Bronson Reed comes from the crowd and takes Punk through the barricade. Breakker hits a spear on Sami to get the win in the match. Seth, Bron and Bronson stand tall in the ring.
Results: Bron Breakker by Pinfall via Spear on Sami Zayn

Several timing issues within the match. One that does in fact bust Chelsea’s face up a bit, sporting some blood from her nose by the end of the match. The crowd does react well to both, Zelina getting good support and Chelsea does as well. There are some nice spots but as a whole its tough to judge half of a five minute match. It appears that the Hervice really only attempts to interfere once and once again Zelina Vega overcomes them with ease. There isn’t much of a story and its not a good match at all.
Results: Zelina Vega by Pinfall via Super Code Red

SQUASH John Cena Vs R Truth / Ron Cena:
John Cena would enter first giving Truth the second one. Truth comes out to John Cena music as he has Cena merch claiming he is Ron Cena. This is a short match with a crowd that is booing John Cena. He is wrestling like a heel. Ron gets a spurt of five moves of doom, getting a near fall with the AA. John would go and grab the championship, while he hesitates and hands the belt to the ref, he kicks Truth low and hits an AA for the win.
Results: John Cena by Pinfall via Attitude Adjustment

Another somewhat tough one to judge with the ad breaks. But the crowd definitely are hot for this match. Them brawling on the outside helped Drew bring two chairs into the cage, which are vital. There is great psychology that revolve around their past matches and them knowing each other. Priest attempting a claymore, Drew hitting a south of heaven. We get to a point where Drew is setting up Damian for the claymore into the corner, the mania finish. Priest counters it and takes over for the finish. Damian would hit a conchairto and escape the cage with Drew a lifeless body in the ring. Its a great steel cage match, but also hindered by the ad breaks.
Results: Damian Priest by Referee Stoppage via Escaping The Cage Through The Door

Looks like the backstage segment between Cena and Jey was vital for this match. John was very tickled at the idea of retiring the last champion and youtuber Logan being the other one. The crowd are booing Logan and Cheering Jey. Its an alright match that has a few good moments. Jey’s hip attack was nice, he countered the buckshot with a superkick. John Cena ends up pulling the referee out of the ring and attacking Jey. Cody Rhodes returns and chases off John. Jey gets the win with an uso splash after Cody made the save. Cody would grab the mic and challenge John and Logan to a tag match for MITB.
Results: Jey Uso by Pinfall via Uso Splash
