WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024 brings a classic feel to WWE TV. From the smaller Entrance aisle and the minimal set to Jesse Ventura being on the product. While there are still a few modern things like the LED posts and barricades, and the ref cam being used, that's the only potential flaw from a production standpoint. The show did have a really solid PLE type crowd as well which definitely boosts the show across the board.
There are very solid matches in the Triple Threat match along with the WWE Championship match. With a couple matches being hindered by the ad breaks within them. Chelsea Green got her moment in what was a heck of a finish to her match as she became the Inaugural champion.
The show had a decent flow and structure, of course building to the biggest match of the night in the main event. My only complaint would be a lack of a hook to get us excited for Raw and/or Smackdown. While WWE have acknowledged the post show attack on social media, that cannot be a part of this rating as it was not aired. A solid TV special altogether.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returns in the year of 2024. With marquee matches such as Cody Rhodes Vs Kevin Owens for the WWE Championship. Gunther having his first triple threat match as World Heavyweight Champion, finding himself in the middle of Finn Balor and Damien Priest’s issues. The first ever Women’s United States champion will be crowned as Michin and Chelsea Green run it back. Liv Morgan has a challenge in a former women’s champion, Iyo Sky. Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn are set for a grudge match.

The high points of this match start with the atmosphere. Both Drew and Sami had great reactions from the crowd. With Sami’s offense the crowd was behind him firmly. Very solid reaction to the Blue Thunder Bomb near fall. Sami is great psychology wise, everything looks good. A few fun sequences like the counter into the Blue Thunder Bomb. The match just doesn’t really have a strong structure. Possibly due to the ad break. Great stuff but it doesn’t get to the next gear, its a fine opener but nothing more.
Results: Drew McIntyre by Pinfall via Claymore

The second match also has a similar feel to Drew Vs Sami. A victim of a chunk of the match being not shown. Iyo Sky is getting good reactions like she has for the last few months since turning face. There is good selling between the two. Some fun sequences. Iyo had her moonsault get countered. Also having a tough springboard but Liv recovered well by giving her a codebreaker. Liv gets the win cleanly with a spiking Oblivion.
Results: Liv Morgan by Pinfall via Oblivion

This is the first match that truly was really well done. From the crowd back into this match. Its a very fun triple threat that escalates through the match. One rough dive from Priest, a rough looking sling blade bump also. This is awesome chants by the end of it. Priest hits a south of heaven on Finn but is yanked out of the ring by Gunther. Gunther has to deadlift Priest up into a powerbomb position onto the steps. He dropkicks and powerbombs Finn to win in a pretty perfect finish.
Results: Gunther by Pinfall via Powerbomb on Finn Balor

My god, what a pop for Chelsea Green getting the win. From boos to woos, the crowd definitely was supportive of Chelsea Green despite being a heel. Piper Niven plays her role as Michin attempts to overcome the odds. Michin’s eat defeat wasn’t that great looking. Green attempted to get the same set up / combo that she beat Bayley win. Ultimately the finish of how Green set up the Unpretti-her was so smooth and looked amazing.
Results: Chelsea Green by Pinfall via UnPretti-Her

MUST WATCH Cody Rhodes Vs Kevin Owens – WWE Championship: WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event 2024 Main Event

This had a very hot Long Island crowd. Firmly supporting Cody Rhodes, while Kevin has his heat. The wrestling looks good and smooth, no botches in the match. Psychologically there are some rough spots with Cody’s selling as he is still able to easily do a Cody cutter on the injured ankle. In contrast to Berlin, Cody couldn’t hit one. With several ref bumps, including Cody springboarding onto one. Kevin Owens attempts to use a chair but it ends up on the ground. Cody hits the Cross Rhodes onto the chair proving he was willing to do whatever it took.
Results: Cody Rhodes by Pinfall via Cross Rhodes Onto a Chair
