WWE Royal Rumble 2025 brought a lot of excitement on the road to Wrestlemania 41. With two Rumbles bookending the show. A tag team championship match that was somewhat set up for failure. The ladder match defined brutality with the hatred between Kevin and Cody. As a whole the Royal Rumble’s both delivered with both a predictable and an unpredictable winner in Charlotte and Jey.
All matches have set up several things. We have moments in the women's rumble that set up the future. The Street Profits returned and attacked both MCMG and DIY. Sami Zayn didn’t help Kevin Owens while Cody Rhodes stood tall and looked on smugly. Many things teased in the mens Rumble including the massive brawl between Roman, Punk and Seth when they were eliminated. John Cena does not get the job done in which he reacted in a truly shocking way on the post show. Jey Uso gets the moment and he has won the Rumble as a true shock.
Great show from top to bottom where the main flaw was the tag match struggling to truly capture the crowd but was in the only position that made sense for them.
WWE Royal Rumble 2025 marks the beginning of the road to Wrestlemania. With a historic crowd with the biggest non Wrestlemania attendance number, this will surely be electric. Both the men and the women have the Royal Rumble and they are able to secure their spot on Wrestlemania 41. DIY will defend against MCMG in their favourite stipulation, a two out of three falls match. Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens collide in a Ladder Match for the WWE Championship.

We saw NXT appearances and Legends returning in a loaded Royal Rumble. What became very apparent was the three iron women in the rumble being Iyo, Liv and Rox. We knew they were gonna have Liv still in the match when Raquel came out. Iyo being Iyo gets to go a long time and look great in the ring. Roxanne gets the iron woman treatment as well which was a great history making moment for her. The toughest part was eliminations, while there were a few going the distance it felt like a disservice to eliminate Iyo and Liv in the same mess that eliminated like 8 of the entrants.
The crowd give great reactions for surprises like Jordynne Grace, Trish Stratus, Nikki Bella, Alexa Bliss probably receiving the pop of the Women’s Rumble. NXT Stars like Stephanie Vaquer, Giulia, Jaida Parker and Lash Legend got their moments in the ring. The biggest thing to “complain” about are the timing issues and overall messiness of the Rumble itself.
There are rough moments because there were a lot of people in the ring. Fun sequences and little nuggets that will be important like Bayley and Rox interacting. Ivy Nile eliminating Lyra Valkyria. PFC teaming up but getting eliminated as a group. And Bianca Belair nearly becoming jealous with Naomi and Jordynne having a nice embrace in the match. Was never really sold that someone else had a shot in winning, it was the Charlotte show with the pyro.

As a whole this match was put in the toughest spot. And from an in ring standpoint delivered. There is great wrestling, great psychology. DIY having the advantage and having the MCMG work from below. The match is well done, but regarding the crowd they did not have them. Its a 70 thousand people crowd and excluding WM40, neither team had performance in front of this type of crowd.
The crowd have their moments and react to a handful of things, but this is just the dead space in the show, after a Royal Rumble. They were “set up to fail.” Even the Street Profits return fell a little flat.

Wow this was brutal. This was a classic ladder match with the heel controlling the pace, using ladders as weapons. Both men deserve every ounce of respect you can give for going through the spots they did. Kevin’s twisting fishermans driver from the top onto a bridged ladder. A powerbomb into a ladder. A back body drop that looked nasty. This match goes to great lengths because it’s a hate filled feud. Sami, Nick Aldis and producers appearing to check on both men before they continue was great. The final spot of the Alabama slam through the ladder was a great climax. With Sami Zayn watching on as Cody gets the title.
Some rough moments from some of the spots causing this not to get 5 Stars.

As a whole this was one of the best Royal Rumble’s that they have ever done. With a start of the more workrate type of guys. Rey and Penta starting off in a great moment. Bringing in Santos, Gable, Melo. It was a good first part of the match. Otis and Bron Breakker brought the power. I Show Speed getting speared into oblivion is a heck of a moment. The flow of this match picks up with Joe Hendry and Roman Reigns. Wow what a pop for Hendry. Roman eliminating him is whatever though. In the early-mid 20s there is a stretch of John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Aj Styles, CM Punk, Seth Rollins all entering and it is electric.
Final Six is John Cena, Jey Uso, Logan Paul, Punk, Roman and Rollins. A very unpredictable six especially with three eliminations in one moment. With Punk eliminating Seth and Roman, and Logan eliminating Punk. Punk, Seth and Roman have a major brawl that teased a lot for what could happen. Several stomps to Roman and Roman saying we teamed together to Punk. John, Jey and Logan are the final three. They built up to Logan getting eliminated and it was by Cena.
Cena and Jey, the final two is a crazy turn of events, Jey and Cena end up on the apron. Trading blows before Jey Uso was lifted up on Cena’s shoulders. Jey got off and pushed Cena off of the apron to win. A Shock result ends a crazy good Rumble.
