WWE Raw October 9 2023 gave us the aftermath of WWE Fastlane. In a show that featured a lot of new talent and a lot of things advancing storylines. The backstage stuff really progressed everything that was happening outside of the matches and promos. We saw a lot of women appearing even if it was for a short segment like the “pity party” The crowd was solid for most of the top stars like Drew, like Seth, Cody and Jey but even then Sami Zayn and Kevin seemed to struggle to get the crowd behind them. Sami Zayn’s theme barely being sung by the crowd. Even short segments to set up next week stuff, having Imperium jump the newly reunited DIY backstage and a tease of Rhea and Drew talking to each other with Drew still having issues with Jey Uso. Amazing storyline development from start to finish of the show. But the rest being quite normal, solid matches, good show structure and a good enough atmosphere.
WWE Raw October 9 2023 brings the fallout from WWE Fastlane. With New Tag Team Champions and the World Heavyweight championship still in Seth Rollins’ hands. Judgment Day also look to deal with JD McDonagh after the misfire that caused them to lose the championships. Becky Lynch defends against Tegan Nox. Nia Jax faces the exact star that she returned and attacked weeks ago in Raquel Rodriguez. Kofi Kingston and Ivar run it back under Viking Rules.
AMAZING Seth Rollins Promo: WWE Raw October 9 2023 Opening Promo
Seth Rollins comes out talking about how adrenaline fueled him on the weekend and once he overcame Shinsuke Nakamura and was in the back, it left him. He mentions how his back is still broken and says it’s been a blast being the first World Heavyweight champion. Seth pauses with the crowd saying Thank You Seth with a serious expression. Rollins’ then mentions that he is just getting started before doing his signature laugh. He then says he is ready to celebrate and continue to be a fighting champion. Drew McIntyre comes out and walks out. McIntyre challenges Seth Rollins to a match before Rollins states he is ready to end the party for a match tonight. Drew then tells Seth that he wants Seth at his best at Crown Jewel. Seth is hesitant but tries to get Drew to sign his song. Drew goes to leave before Damian Priest jumps Seth. Priest hits the south of heaven before calling for Dominik Mysterio to run down to the ring. McIntyre stops Dom before hitting him with a Glasgow kiss and ruining the judgment day’s plan.

GREAT Ivar Vs Kofi Kingston – Viking Rules Match: WWE Raw October 9 2023 First Match
While this match wasn’t as good as their original singles match, it was still enjoyable. We saw Kofi throwing Ivar through a table by gripping his beard. We saw both Valhalla and Xavier Woods get involved and I thought there was a good sequence from Valhalla being sent over the barricade as Woods juked her. Ivar then hit the cross body into the barricade as Xavier was seated. Kofi got the trouble in paradise right after. I think the counter to another trouble in paradise was great and through a table. Ivar got the moonsault. Great ending with unique and innovative spots throughout the whole match. Another very solid match.

GOOD Raquel Rodriguez Vs Nia Jax:
There was a basic story built around the match, Raquel struggling to lift Nia Jax. As Nia Jax was setting up the annihilator, Raquel stopped it. Rodrgiuez then hit a powerbomb on Nia Jax. Raquel sells before Rhea Ripley runs down and interferes in the match. Rhea attacks Raquel as a brawl happens. Shayna Baszler stands tall by going face to face with Rhea and hitting a big knee strike knocking down Rhea.
Results: Raquel Rodriguez by DQ via Rhea Ripley attacking her first.

GREAT Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso Promo:
For the second week in a row, Michael Cole is WWE’s best instigator. Michael Cole interviews both Jey and Cody Rhodes before asking if this championship reign is going to be in the way of Cody “finishing the story.” Cody Rhodes doesn’t answer the question as he focuses on being champs with his fellow Yeet brethren. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens then come out. Sami talks about being on the fence with the new champs. On one hand despising the judgment day but feeling jealous over Cody and Jey being the team to beat them. Kevin Owens isn’t shy about not liking Jey Uso and takes a shot by saying they wouldn’t defend the titles against them. Cody and Jey accept and all men shake hands for the main event later.

GREAT Ricochet Vs Bronson Reed Vs Chad Gable – Winner Faces Gunther Next Week:
Ricochet is attacked by Shinsuke Nakamura during his entrance but still competes. This is a fun and enjoyable match with Ricochet, Chad and Bronson all having their moments. The finish was absolutely brilliant, Ricochet countering a super german suplex by landing on his feet. Selling his knee/ankle before being hit with a chaos theory. Reed breaks up the bridging pin and uses Ricochet as a weapon. Hitting a senton on both of them before getting the Tsunami.

SQUASH Drew McIntyre Vs JD McDonagh with Dominik Mysterio:
What a back body drop with Drew launching JD. JD got some offense on Drew while working on his leg. Drew caught him with a future shock and hit him with a claymore for the win. This time not stopping his 3-2-1 count.

GOOD Becky Lynch Vs Tegan Nox – NXT Women’s Championship Match:
Tegan Nox’s big break and she looked pretty slow. Not working at this level in nearly years so she was obviously rusty. It was a good match with a crowd that only cared about Becky Lynch. There was some good arm work and some good moments in it. Becky got the win with the disarmher in a fine match.

Chelsea Green calls Katana, Kayden and Natalya consulting the defeated Tegan a pity party. Chelsea threatens Natalya to not mess with her or else Piper Niven will do something about it. Natalya then challenges Piper for a match next week.
Rhea gets a match made between her and Shayna for next week.
GREAT Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Vs Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso – Undisputed Tag Team Championship Match: WWE Raw October 9 2023 Main Event
Two teams that were determined to beat the respect into each other. While there were a couple moments of discoordination and a complete overshot in the finish. This was a very entertaining main event. All men looked good and had their moments and the match was a good TV main event. The show ends with all men exchanging respect again, especially Jey winning over Kevin.
