WWE Raw January 27 2025 brought a Go Home Show that added a good amount to be excited for. As a whole there feels like a bit of fluff on this show. With Jey Uso having a pointless segment to announce he is in the Rumble with Quavo. Kai Cenat and Xavier Woods’ family being interviewed in international promos (I Believe).
There are standout segments like the opening promo having Logan announce his entry while teasing matches of Gunther Vs Seth and Gunther Vs Logan. Drew cut a great promo on Paul Heyman after the 2k25 cover reveal. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes met one year later and the differences are crazy compared to their promo this year last year. Great stuff from both men.
The wrestling was fine, probably the weakest action since debuting on Netflix. With JD McDonagh showing his inner dog with crazy injuries in the tag title match. The Women's Tag match being alright with some good enough moments. Rey and Woods’ highlight being when Woods’ family arrived and showed their New Day Sucks shirts. SamI Zayn also failed to beat Drew McIntyre once again as Drew used an underhanded tactic.
WWE Raw January 27 2025 brings the go home show for the Raw side. Returning to where he lives is the WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn challenged each other once again after Drew was the reason Sami kicked Seth last week. The War Raiders defend the tag championships against JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio. After pinning Bianca Belair, Liv and Raquel face the tag team champions. Logan Paul finally makes his official debut on Raw after weeks of video packages and just appearing in the crowd.
AMAZING Seth Rollins Promo: WWE Raw January 27 2025 Opening Promo
Seth opens the show talking about the Royal Rumble. Saying its the start of the best time of year. Mentioning how his year hasn’t started great, suffering the biggest loss of his career. Talking about how he wants to go on to win the Royal Rumble, not having issues eliminating the entrants. Hinting that he could go after Cody or the World Heavyweight Champion.
Gunther interrupts before his name could be said and basically said ‘Seth in 2025.” Saying Seth does not have it in him anymore. Saying Seth was one of the best in the company but clearly not anymore. Also taking a shot at the crowd with how he beat the Clown, Jey Uso. He wants Seth to win so he could cause Seth to suffer the defeat like everyone else he has beaten.
Logan Paul would appear and ends up getting the Dominik boos that normally stop him from talking. It didn’t stop Logan from talking. He says the opposite of the “I have to beat 29 other men.” Logan said he has to survive and eliminate one person to win. Gunther would then say as a joke that he would love for Logan to win the Rumble so he could slap him silly. Seth would say its gonna be him before leaving with his signature laugh.

GOOD War Raiders Vs Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh – WWE World Tag Team Championships: WWE Raw January 27 2025 First Match
JD McDonagh took an absolute beating and it is a nasty injury that he has sustained. This match almost reached that uncomfortable territory because we thought the injury was head related and he took shot after shot. It was visible that he was hurt but JD earned the respect of the crowd and continued the match. Carlito attempts to aid Dom and JD and they get a nearfall. The end of the match came with Ivar and Erik hitting the War Machine Springboard Clothesline.
Results: War Raiders by Pinfall via War Machine on JD McDonagh
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.25 Stars
GREAT Rey Mysterio Vs Xavier Woods:
The New Day are absolutely hated. This match proves it. The show was in Woods’ hometown so they used the family at ringside type of angle again. Starting off with the family not even being present as the match goes on. There are some fun spots like the double stomp to a draping Rey. By the end of it Woods and Kofi are thrown off by Woods’ family arriving and revealing new New Day Sucks shirts. Rey gets the win from a disheartened and distracted Xavier.
Results: Rey Mysterio by Pinfall via 619 and Dropping The Dime
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.50 Stars
ABOVE AVERAGE Jey Uso Promo:
Jey and Quavo do the entrance through the crowd. It is a lengthy entrance that has Jey take a long time before saying he needed this. Before he declared himself for the Royal Rumble and how he wants to beat Gunther for the world title.

GOOD Bianca Belair and Naomi Vs Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez:
This was relatively fine, good psychology with the heel team controlling the match. Bianca countering Oblivion into a KOD was a great spot. Dom distracts the ref and is taken out by a crossbody by Bianca. Naomi hits a moonsault and Liv is selling like its death. Raquel breaks up the pin, powerbombs Naomi onto the apron and lets a very lifeless Liv get the pin.
Results: Liv Morgan by Pinfall via Tejana Bomb on Naomi.

AMAZING WWE 2K25 Reveal:
Paul Heyman reveals the Roman Reigns cover before taking about how everyone wants to be Roman Reigns. Saying there are a lot of pretenders and people that are jealous of Roman. Drew McIntyre is the one to interrupt him. Claiming that he was the Daddy of the Bloodline as he eliminated Roman in 2020 to win the Rumble. Apologizing for being the catalyst for Paul Heyman being able to work with Roman. Drew wanted a thank you from Paul. Paul said he was crowding him after thanking him. Drew then told Paul to tell his guy that he will beat them and eliminate them referring to Punk.

GREAT Drew McIntyre Vs Sami Zayn: WWE Raw January 27 2025 Main Event
Similar to last weeks match, Drew is the man in control for a good portion of the match. Sami Zayn is battling back, hitting an Arabian Press, wrestling with a small cut on his nose. Having a close call with getting into the ring. Drew has to steal the victory by rolling him up and using the ropes for leverage. Drew attacks Sami after the match and Cody Rhodes makes the save. It ends with Cody taking a Helluva Kick by Accident.
Results: Drew McIntyre by Pinfall via Rope Assisted Roll Up

MUST WATCH Cody Rhodes Promo: WWE Raw January 27 2025 Closing Segment
Cody addresses being in his hometown as he looks up to the hanging championships. Saying that nobody works harder than him, how he is the first to arrive and leave. Saying KO doesn’t have the champion mindset. CM Punk interrupts and as Cody’s friend asks if he was okay. You can tell the visible stress being put on Cody Rhodes by the championship reign. Punk mentions it as someone who could relate. Cody wants Punk to say what is next since Punk predicted many things this time last year.
Punk talks about Cody not being able to sleep in his own bed. Saying that he might have to do media. Going on about knowing there will be a hungry challenge breathing down his neck after he beats Kevin Owens. Punk says the bad news is that it will be him wanting to take the WWE Championship. Saying he will stab Cody in the front not the back.
Cody would tell Punk that the dynamic changed from following and trying to catch up to Punk to now Punk having to catch up. Saying he wants Punk to win the rumble so he can prove the BITW isn’t the BITW anymore.
