WWE Raw December 23 2024 brings another taped show as it’s that time of the year. With a show that never really gets into that next gear. The overall flow of the show struggles, the opening promo was very well done. A cliff notes version of Drew’s speech on Busted Open, along with Sami being tremendous at his job as a baby face.
With three matches rated as a squash match, it shows you how the majority of the show felt reliant on moments like War Raiders helping Priest, Wyatt Sicks standing tall and American Made backing down from Otis. Tension between Finn and Liv Morgan after last weeks events. There is relatively good storytelling to set next week up but the show very much can be fast forwarded to see important things. The main event was fun and stopped it from being another 2.75 Star show.
WWE Raw December 23 2024 brings a taped Raw from Boston after last week. The final first round match in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship tournament is set for tonight. With Kairi Sane being out of her match, who takes her place? Chad Gable faces Akira Tozawa and The Miz takes on The Wyatt Sicks’ Dexter Lumis.
MUST WATCH Drew McIntyre Promo: WWE Raw December 23 2024 Opening Promo
If you saw the video online of Drew with what he said at the Busted Open Christmas party, you got the more real version. Drew would talk about missing important personal dates. Going on about how the locker room is not at all a brotherhood/family. Claiming only one person reached out to him during his time away, without saying who it was.
Sami Zayn would ultimately come out and cut a tremendous promo about having the same experiences. Knowing what Drew is talking about, mentioning having to tough it out. Sami would connect it to every single person. Talking about kids getting bullied at school and pretending everything is alright. Saying while Drew is pointing his finger at the fans, the fans are the ones who made him.
After saying Drew could have a problem with the Bloodline, Sami said he wanted to be Drew’s problem. Drew said not too as Sami wasn’t 100%, but Sami ended up punching Drew and they brawled. Jey Uso makes the save for Sami as Drew was gaining control of him.
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 4.75 Stars
PFC attempt to get Sonya in the tournament, but Pearce asks why he would reward them for causing this. Putting Iyo in the match.
GOOD Alba Fyre Vs Iyo Sky Vs Natalya – Women’s Intercontinental Championship Quarter Final: WWE Raw December 23 2024 First Match
Iyo Sky is replacing Kairi Sane. The match gets the typical amount of time. Iyo continues to be the most over star in matches, she can easily capture and engage the crowd with her aerial spots. Natalya got a double sharpshooter in the match for a fun spot. Alba hit a swanton onto both of them, and as a typical heel tries to pin both. Iyo ultimately wins with a moonsault on Natalya.
Results: Iyo Sky by Pinfall via Moonsault on Natalya
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 3.25 Stars
SQUASH Akira Tozawa Vs Chad Gable:
Biggest moment of tension was Chad and Otis having a staredown in the moment, with Chad slapping Otis. Gable dominates Tozawa by giving him several germans, a powerbomb and an ankle lock to win. Chad attempted to keep it locked in but Otis stopped him. American Made protected Chad as they retreated.
Results: Chad Gable by Submission via Ankle Lock
SQUASH Damian Priest Vs Dominik Mysterio:
After saying he had a plan, Damian knew the playbook. Stopping JD from dressing like Santa in the crowd. Carlito under the ring. Finn ends up attacking. The War Raiders save Damian from a Judgment Day beatdown.
Results: Damian Priest by DQ via Finn Balor Attack
SQUASH Dexter Lumis Vs The Miz:
Lumis is scaring the Miz. AOP and Kross appear. The Final Testament and Miz surround Lumis and the Wyatt Sicks appear Howdyless. The Wyatt Sicks stand tall after Rowan powerbombed Nikki out of the ring onto other people.
Results: Dexter Lumis by DQ via Final Testament Attack
AMAZING New Day Promo:
The New Day appears by the announce table. Criticising Joe’s unbiased Journalism. Also comparing Big E and Wade Barrett as two of the same, two people who can’t get cleared. The two of them ask why people are mad because they didn’t attack Big E. They let him walk instead of sending him out on a stretcher again.
Kofi claims this was meant to be a hometown welcome for him. Claiming his Mom flew all the way from Africa to see him. He attempts to offer his Mom a hug but his Mom walked away and left through the crowd.

AMAZING Drew McIntyre Vs Sami Zayn: WWE Raw December 23 2024 Main Event
Directly comparing this to SNME, this got a good amount of time longer than SNME. The crowd was weaker than it was for the special TV event. There is better psychology as they got to build it. Knowing Sami wasn’t 100%. Sami hit an Arabian press to stop a dive and sold the back in that. They build more with Sami getting hit with an avalanche white noise. Also using the outside environment like the steps and the apron to further damage Sami.
Drew hits a claymore to win the match. Trying to attack him further The Bloodline, Tama, Jacob and Solo appear and help him. Jey tries to make the save but ultimately The Bloodline stand tall without Drew’s help.
Results: Drew McIntyre by Pinfall via Claymore Kick
Coby Galenzoski WR Star Rating – 4.00 Stars
