WWE have announced through their website that the NXT Tag Team titles are now vacant following the release of Nash Carter on Wednesday.
Carter was released following accusations of abuse from his wife Kimber Lee. Lee accused Carter of being both physically and emotionally abusive towards her, and alleges that he is a narcissist. Lee also stated that Carter held anti-LGBTQ+ views.
Neither WWE or Carter himself have made any public statements regarding the accusations. Carter’s tag team partner Wes Lee has also remained silent.
MSK (Carter and Wes Lee) joined NXT in 2020. They won the titles during the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in a triple threat match against the Grizzled Young Veterans and Legado Del Fantasma. They lost the titles at Halloween Havoc to Imperium, but regained them back at Stand and Deliver this past weekend in a triple threat match.
New champions will be crowned on Tuesday’s episode of NXT.
