WWE NXT No Mercy 2023 was a banger of a show with a loaded card of talent. All championships were defended in entertaining matches including shocking title changes with Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov becoming champions. Two match of the year candidates back to back and three bicycles used for entrances. All matches advanced a story including the creation of new ones. A strong card from top to bottom delivering a high quality event showing NXT will always stand and deliver.
WWE NXT No Mercy 2023 has a loaded event, with a large amount of main roster talent. Bron Breakker faces Baron Corbin after their endless brawl on Tuesday. After winning the global heritage tournament, Butch faces Meta-Four’s Noam Dar. The Family faces a loaded field of teams in Los Lotharios, Out The Mud and The Creed Brothers. Trick Williams faces Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio with Dragon Lee as a special guest referee. Carmelo Hayes defends against Ilja Dragunov and Tiffany Stratton main event’s with Big Time Bex, Becky Lynch.

Overall this was just an intense opener. Both men had their moments and took their big shots against each other. We had Bron wearing the face of a wolf and Baron Corbin riding a motorcycle. Baron Corbin’s end of days and deep six will always be impressive especially on bigger dudes like Breakker. Robert Stone diving onto Bron and being tossed out was fun and then the end of days for the win was good. Breakker looked great in defeat and Corbin needed a win.

Dominik and hot crowds seem to go hand in hand now. While the action was overall basic, the psychology with all three men was solid. The story got convoluted with multiple ref bumps but it was a basic story for a special guest referee match. There were a number of rough spots in the match and wasn’t too innovative. If the crowd wasn’t that hot for both Dom and Trick this would be an average match.

AMAZING Out The Mud, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima Vs Los Lotharios Vs The Creed Brothers Vs The Family – NXT Tag Team Championship Match:

A match that definitely over delivered. Each team had their moments to shine in the match. Julius suplexing everyone including hitting both of “out the mud” with one at the same time. Los Lotharios got the chance to showcase their ability. There was a clear story built in the match with Tony D’Angelo having to work on selling his knee. The tag psychology of the heel teams working together causing the creeds, Tony and Stacks to work together is great. The crowd went electric for the quadruple superplex spot and rightfully so.

GREAT Noam Dar Vs Butch – NXT Heritage Cup, Heritage Rules Match:

The heritage cup is such a unique stipulation but there is such an easy way to tell a story with it. From Noam Dar cheating to get the first fall. To the nearfalls in the later rounds, a gradual build to the final round. The crowd got better in the second half with the nearfalls and the intense moments. There were great spots between both men and both men had great selling.

What a match between these two. The fact that this had such a similar structure to their first match but was still as intense, as innovative, as dramatic as the second one. From the intensive kick outs to the counters of counters. This match from top to bottom was killer. The story being told from Hayes trying to prove to himself that he could beat Ilja but he couldn’t. The escalation of H-Bomb being hit from definitely heights. This was everything you could ask for a main event despite it being the semi main event.

PERFECT Tiffany Stratton Vs Becky Lynch – NXT Women’s Championship Extreme Rules Match: WWE NXT No Mercy 2023 Main Event

It is truly scary just how good Tiffany Stratton is. Two years into wrestling and she had one of the best women’s matches of the year and of NXT history. I do know it takes two to tango and Becky always brings it in high profile matches. From a hot crowd to great spots, we saw both women showing some color, Tiffany from her eye and Becky from her arm. The fact that these two have this chemistry is shocking but it’s awesome as a wrestling fan. This blew all expectations out of the water.
