WWE NXT Battleground 2025 proves once again that NXT events that don’t look so stacked truly deliver. Six strong matches, including a 5 star women's match. Both women's championship matches being very strong. Myles Borne gets a strong showing with Oba. The six man tag is a lot of fun with Inamura returning to reunite with Briggs. Trick and Joe is a very well done match that has one flaw, the fact that the TNA World Title main evented, hinted something big was gonna happen, Trick winning was as surprising with that placement. Coming out of Battleground with satisfying match results, intriguing moments with whats next for Luca. Angles to set up Ricky Saints Vs Ethan Page 2 and Jacy Jayne slapping the heck out of Stephanie Vaquer to get a title shot. The only flaw from this show is the main event being spoiled by placement.
WWE NXT Battleground 2025 is loaded with championship matches. Jordynne Grace challenges Stephanie Vaquer for the NXT Women’s Championship. Sol Ruca and Kelani Jordan have their second battle for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Trick Williams has the chance to make history against Joe Hendry with the TNA world championship being defended on an NXT event. Josh Briggs teams with Hank and Tank to take on The Culling. The Family collides with Tony D’Angelo and Channing Stacks Lorenzo, both being set for a personal battle. And Oba Femi wants to defend against a bonafide underdog in NQCC’s Myles Borne.

From bell to bell this is an electric match. The crowd is off the charts. There is unique moves like a springboard x factor from the top. Ruca doing a spear. Certain counters and overall this is just very evenly matched. We do have a Zaria difference maker with her moving Sol out of the way for the split legged moonsault. Sol hits an insane 450 Sol Snatcher for the win to kick off Battleground the correct way.

AMAZING The Culling Vs Josh Briggs, Hank and Tank:

This was actually really well done. A match that once again has a great crowd. The culling work together and do well psychologically. There are fun moments and sequences including Nico and Brooks’ double team foot stomp dominator. Izzi Dame’s interference was impressive due to the height she got her boot up. Hank and Tank get their combo for the win in a fun match. The Culling try to attack and make a statement. Inamura stops Izzi from grabbing a chair and the four men lay out the Culling. Briggs reunites with Inamura in a fun moment.

Something didn’t fully click. There are fun moments like Stacks cannonballing into the LED post. Good kick outs with Tony hitting the Forget about it. The match just doesn’t really get into next gear. There are great moments like Tony stopping his beatdown with his conflict. Stacks trying to go for the signature Family crowbar. There are strong moments in this match just not that 3rd or fourth gear. Luca Crusafino appears ringside and distracts Tony, Stacks gets the win. After the match Tony wouldn’t hug Luca.

PERFECT Stephanie Vaquer Vs Jordynne Grace – NXT Women’s Championship:
Off the charts a tremendous match from bell to bell. The crowd are firmly behind Vaquer and even do the Booker moans as a chant for the Devils kiss. There is great build up, a successful crescendo. Grace being through into the barricade was a great spot. The SVB kick out was surprising, the crowd were shocked by it. Stephanie ends up getting the win with her corkscrew moonsault that is just an amazing finisher to pull out for special occasions.

MUST WATCH Oba Femi Vs Myles Borne – NXT Championship: WWE NXT Battleground 2025 Semi Main Event

Myles Borne left this match with the respect of every fan watching this in person and online. This is a very strong showing with engaging kick outs that the crowd do get invested into. An underdog gets his moments, gets his big spots and has a journey. From Oba primarily being who was getting a reaction, to the crowd getting behind Myles for this match. Oba puts Borne away after three powerbombs. Its a realistic finish to an electric showing from a clear underdog.

From a work rate standpoint this was never gonna be the greatest match, but its very fun. A very hot crowd for a historic main event. Great moments like Trick doing a spinarooni, Joe hitting a Book End. Joe has his moments like his vaulting dive. The nearfalls do get intense and the emotions are apparent. I thought the flapjack onto the title looked very clean and Trick winning the title is a strong shock ending for a TNA world title match.
