WWE Night Of Champions 2025 brings a solid night of wrestling. With really only one major blemish on the card with that being the Queen Of The Ring finals. The rest of the show was very well done. A high quality opener, an expectation exceeding Street Fight and once again rolling back the time with John Cena getting one more CM Punk main event that is the best Cena match of the year so far. Sami Zayn overcomes Karrion Kross, Solo Sikoa’s family grows with Tala Tonga and the return of Tonga Loa. Cody Rhodes sets his sight on John Cena and Seth Rollins/CM Punk just got an adrenaline boost for the Road to Summerslam.

As a whole this is a very well done match from bell to bell. Revolving around Randy’s early high risk that put him at a disadvantage. Hurting his lower back on a superplex that affected the rest of the match. Cody Rhodes also did not hesitating on targeting his back, including a stretch on the corner post. Randy does very much excel in selling the lower back and does so in plenty of his modern matches since returning from injury.
After a handful of solid kick outs from Randy, including a couple Cody cutters, Randy starts to get his own offense. A catching RKO and an out of nowhere one. Orton ended up hesitating on the Punt kick so Cody was able to counter it. He would use a steel chair to divert the ref’s attention so he could get an exposed turnbuckle. After an exchange, Cody pushed Randy into it hurting the ribs before getting a Cross Rhodes for the win.
Very fun and enjoyable match that does leave room for a different style of match in the future that does go a little further.
Results: Cody Rhodes by Pinfall via Cross Rhodes

This was a match that exceeded probably a lot of expectations. Rhea and Raquel have never really captured their NXT magic on the Main Roster. This was something that absolutely matched it. With the intensity of the kendo stick shots from Raquel to Rhea, Rhea using her studded belt to whip Raquel as well. This was a hard hitting fight with two powerhouses and they laid their shots in. Roxanne Perez attempted to aid her Judgment Day associate, but Rhea took her out with ease. Rhea hits a very cool Super Riptide off of a table that was bridged over the top rope.
Results: Rhea Ripley by Pinfall via Super Riptide

There is easily a Kross took some bumps joke in here with the rumors surrounding him from this week. This is a solid match, even better on the second watch. We have the power of Kross on display with his Doomsday Saito suplexes and a nice Death Valley Driver. Several moments of Kross saying that he was right, Sami doesn’t have it as he is saying it to Sami’s face. The crowd was firmly supporting Sami Zayn while Kross got his heat during the match itself. Zayn would continue with a helluva kick for the win after a solid match.
Results: Sami Zayn by Pinfall via Helluva Kick

Solo Sikoa proves intellectual superiority as he had a plan. The return of Tonga Loa, the debut of Tala Tonga (Hikuleo). This is another fun match that does have a good structure. The hard hitting and explosive nature of Jacob Fatu while Solo Sikoa slows it down, makes it methodical. The crowd was booing Solo and cheering for Jacob. Jacob gets a run while JC Mateo and Tonga Loa were the ones who interfered first. Tala Tonga was the difference maker that helped Solo get the win with a Samoan Spike that was sold beautifully from Fatu.
Results: Solo Sikoa by Pinfall via Samoan Spike

The biggest strength of this match were the counters. We saw a couple of Empress Impact counters, including in the finish where she countered it into the Jaded. The counters and sequences were probably the only part of this match that just didn’t feel underwhelming. Asuka was beloved in Saudi and Asuka’s offense looked really good. Jade wasn’t great in this match. The crowd was not resonating with her either. This as a whole was the weakest match of the night, that felt like it never went into second gear. Underwhelming and just a mid showing from Jade overall.
Results: Jade Cargill by Pinfall via Jaded

PERFECT John Cena Vs CM Punk – WWE Championship: WWE Night Of Champions 2025 Main Event
A love letter to the John Cena and CM Punk rivalry of the past. This plays the hits, with spots that were done before in their past matches that made sense. The kick to counter the five knuckle shuffle, Countering Punk’s neckbreaker with an AA. This is very much a well wrestled with a crowd that was off the charts electric. With the crowd attached to every nearfall from the GTS’ and the AA’s.
A shoulder block took out the main ref and Punk was screwed after hitting a GTS. Seth Rollins appeared with Bron and Bronson. After targeting CM Punk, Cena stood up to Seth saying this was his business. Seth gets hit with an AA and then the dogs go after Cena. Penta and Sami Zayn end up taking out Bron Breakker by the stage and Punk stops Bronson from hitting a tsunami on John. Seeing John get Bronson up for an AA was magical once again. After taking out Reed, Punk and Cena shake hands before John tried to low blow him like he did to Cody at EC. Punk blocked by Seth used the briefcase to stop a GTS. He stomped Punk and Cena got rid of Seth and got the win from the stomp.
Results: John Cena by Pinfall via Seth Rollins’ Stomp
