WWE have filed a new trademark for Baron Corbin.
A new King of WWE was crowned recently, as Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Baron Corbin for the crown during SmackDown two weeks ago. This put an end to Corbin’s two year reign in WWE, which began when he won the 2019 King Of The Ring tournament. There hasn’t been a tournament since then, however according to recent reports it could be returning as early as this year.
Since losing his throne, Corbin has been shown being sad and depressed backstage during episodes of SmackDown, claiming that he has lost ‘hundreds of thousands of dollars’. Meanwhile ‘Kingsuke’ Nakamura was coronated during last Friday’s SmackDown.
WWE may be looking to change Baron Corbin’s gimmick once again however, as they recently filed a trademark for ‘Happy Corbin’. While nothing has yet been teased on Corbin’s new character, the trademark suggests that he could find a reason to be happy again in recent weeks, potentially even as early as this week’s SmackDown.
