It seems the WWE has made a drastic move in keeping their talent being able to perform on their programming.
The WWE had been hit by a wave of new COVID infections which have had a pulsating effect from backstage crew to the talent that perform within the squared circle. As reported by PWInsider, the plans changed for the live event at Madison Square Garden last night, the advertised matches which was Big E vs Seth Rollins vs Kevin Owens and Becky Lynch vs Bianca Belair did not take place at the event with Edge being brought in as a replacement in the Owens match.
As well, Dave Meltzer noted that Rollins, Big E, Becky Lynch and Bianca Bleair were taken off the event at Madison Square Garden, as well as this Roman Reigns was also pulled from upcoming live event in Tampa.
Now, it is being reported by Fightful, that the WWE will be scrapping COVID testing.
Fightful stated that for NXT 2.0 talent they have been advised that their twice-weekly COVID testing that had previously been mandatory, is not longer required. For the main roster, a same type of email was received by them.
Fightful has stated that the feeling amongst the roster about this decision “didn’t sit well with several within the company”
It is unsure at this point in time if been vaccinated will be taken to account.
