In honor of his birthday, we are honoring Chad Gable as our Wrestler of the Day. Gable currently competes on Monday Night Raw with Otis as a member of Alpha Academy.
Gable is part of the long line of professional wrestlers with a background in amateur wrestling. After a successful high school career, he qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, England. Unfortunately for him, he was eliminated from medal contention and did not compete in future Olympics.
After his amateur career ended, he signed with WWE and adopted the ring name of Chad Gable. After making his NXT debut in 2014, Gable achieved success alongside Jason Jordan by winning the NXT Tag Team Championships. While his title reign was brief, it led to a quick promotion for Gable to SmackDown. Originally continuing his partnership with Jordan, Chad Gable split off and briefly went solo in 2017.
Chad Gable has tagged with a few different people during his time on the main roster, becoming the second person to win the Raw, SmackDown, and NXT tag team championships. After a brief stint as Shorty G, Gable took fellow former amateur Otis under his wing and Alpha Academy was born. Since forming this team, Gable has become notable for his two catchphrases: Shoosh” and “Thank You!” Otis and Chad Gable held the Raw Tag Team Championships for 55 days until they lost to RK-Bro.
