From the Wyatt Family to his work as the Fiend, Bray Wyatt never ceased to captivate fans with his outside-the-box ideas and storytelling. His unexpected passing comes after a long absence from WWE due to illness. Wrestling Republic joins the wrestling world in mourning his passing.
A third-generation wrestler, Windham Rotunda followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, Blackjack Mulligan, and his father Mike Rotunda. Like many wrestlers, Rotunda was a college football player, spending two years at Troy University in Alabama. Thankfully, for wrestling fans, he left the Trojans to pursue a career in the squared circle.
After spending time in Florida Championship Wrestling, Rotunda made his WWE debut under the name Husky Harris as a member of The Nexus. While the Nexus didn’t last, Windham Rotunda achieved great success under a new name: Bray Wyatt. Arguably his best work came as the leader of the cult-like Wyatt Family, alongside Braun Strowman and the late Luke Harper, among others. WWE released Wyatt shortly after WrestleMania 37, but returned to the company at Extreme Rules in 2022.
Tragically, Wyatt’s return was cut short after his sudden passing earlier today. As of writing, the cause of death is unknown. The author will be praying for Windham Rotunda’s widow and four children. Rest In Piece, Bray. You will be missed.
