Adam Pearce, NWA World Champion turned WWE official, is today’s Wrestling Republic Wrestler of the Day.

    Adam Pearce Biography:

    Birth Name: Adam John Pearce

    Age: 44 (June 24th, 1978)

    Height: 6’2

    Weight: 241 pounds

    Debut: 1996

Place of Birth: Lake Forest, Illinois

Accolades: 5x NWA World Champion, 1x NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion, 2x NWA Heritage Champion, NWA Hall of Fame (2015), #44 on PWI Top 500 in 2008

One year ago today, Roman Reigns interfered in a gauntlet match to ensure that WWE official Adam Pearce would win and become his next challenger. Despite this comedic turn of events, Pearce actually had a successful in-ring career. In honor of the anniversary of this match, Pearce is the Wrestler of the Day for January 8th.

After performing on the independent scene for a number of years, Pearce served as an enhancement talent with WWE and actually received a couple of tryouts with WCW. His career broke out as a member of Ring of Honor (ROH) in the mid-2000s. Interestingly, he served as Jim Cornette’s second in command during the promotion’s storyline with CZW. Despite this prominent role, Pearce never won a championship with ROH.

Despite the lack of gold in ROH, Adam Pearce was actually busy winning championships with the NWA during this time. Pearce won the NWA’s top prize on five occasions between 2006 and 2014, defeating people like Brent Albright and Colt Cabana. He retired from full-time competition in 2014 and was inducted into the NWA Hall of Fame shortly after.

After his in-ring career concluded, WWE brought in Pearce as a trainer and a producer. Most recently, Pearce has featured prominently as the on-screen authority figure on WWE programming. Despite winning the gauntlet match to earn a title shot, Pearce replaced himself in the match with Kevin Owens. Pearce has featured less prominently on tv in recent months.
