Explanations:
Below are all of the voters with their original explanation of who they voted for, first the winner.
The Acclaimed

“The Acclaimed have one of the most organic rises I’ve ever seen in wrestling. I have to pick them as my breakout star of the year. From January to where they are now is nothing short of remarkable, and it has been a blast to watch their rise”. – Clark Taylor (Reviewer & Republic Ramble Co Host)
“Look at the crowd of any AEW event and one of the things that will stand out is the sheer number of Acclaimed gear and props among the fans. Not only because of scissoring and Caster’s raps, The Acclaimed also put on good matches.” – Matt Cookson (Review Writer)
“The Acclaimed is for sure the Breakout Star of the year. The development of their story is great and the way they came to connect with the fans is unique. Not to mention their talent and chemistry in the ring”. – Gabriela Boteo (News Writer)
“The Acclaimed are not short on confidence. They aren’t the best tag team in the world, but they are AEW’s best attraction. They have become great in-ring workers and have built a fanbase that gravitates to them no matter who their counterpart is.” – Ignacio Pinalez (Opinion Writer & Take It To The Table Guest)
Roxanne Perez

“I have to go Roxanne here. She started the year as the first ROH Women’s champion despite the future of the company being in question. She loses the title and goes to NXT in March and ends the year holding the NXT Women’s Tag Titles once and being the reigning NXT Women’s champion ending Mandy Rose’s long title reign.” – Anthony Ricciardi (Head Of Opinions)
“Roxanne Perez has been great since joining WWE. Her rivalry with Cora Jade was one of the best parts of NXT over the past year and she also impressed on her Smackdown debut. Roxanne has absolutely deserved her NXT Women’s Championship win” – Archie Carter (News & Opinion Writer)
“Perez is an incredible in-ring competitor and has shown a ton of growth in the past year. She managed to win the Breakout Tournament and capture the NXT Women’s Championship on top of having a fantastic program with Cora Jade. Considering she’s only four years into her career, she has a very bright future ahead of her and turned herself into one of the most talked about competitors in WWE”. – Olivia Quinlan (Head Of News)
“Its hard to say that someone was champion of a dying brand, to being champion of a developmental brand. Roxanne Perez started as Rox-C and ended the year making her trainer Booker T proud. The accomplishments that Roxanne had this year truly add up and prove how she is the future.” – Coby Galenzoski (Head of Reviews & Co Host of Republic Ramble)
Konosuke Takeshita

“From a small boy in Osaka to kicking out of a Paradigm Shift in a one count. Takeshita’s time has finally come with him chasing his dreams of moving to America and now signed to one of the biggest wrestling companies in today’s time” – Suki (Japanese News Writer & Lions Of The Republic Co-host)
“Konosuke Takeshita has talent, charisma and a huge passion for this sport that quickly gifted him the respect of the American crowds, wrestlers and earned him an AEW contract. The perfect example of how passion, sweat and tears pays off when fighting for our dreams” – Tomas Gramajo (News Writer)
“I will happily debate with any of my colleagues that Takeshita has had the best breakout year of all wrestling. No one knew much of him before he stepped into an AEW ring, and now he’s in the “Best in the World” contention? If that’s not breakout, I don’t know what is.” – Ben Wagner (Opinion Writer & Lions Of The Republic Co-Host)
Austin Theory

“Austin Theory is breakout star of the year. His rise, fall and climb back to a championship was a great bounce in his rookie run on the main roster” – Mark Mumby (News & Scouting Showcase Writer)
“Had his ups and downs but was the best developed” – Dakota Mayes (News Writer)
“While the breakout admittedly did start in November 2021, this truly was the year that Austin Theory broke out and put himself in the position to become WWE’s next big star.” – Ben Allison (Owner Of Wrestling Republic and Graphic Artist)
Wheeler Yuta

“What a year for Wheeler Yuta. From being the odd man out in Best Friends, to becoming a x2 ROH Pure Champion and a member of the Blackpool Combat Club with allies such as Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli. Starting by beating Josh Woods to become the ROH Pure Champion, was the spark that ignited the fighting spirit within Yuta. Yuta would bleed and showed his open spirit through his bleeding wounds after facing Jon Moxley, as he wished to become accepted by the members of the Blackpool Combat Club.
After being accepted Yuta would become a fighter with honor, only to face a similar yet different man like him in Daniel Garcia, with Yuta losing his Pure Title to Garcia, only to find his fighting spirit again to become a x2 Pure Champion. Yuta broke out this year through his wrestling spirit of combat and honor.”– Soul (Host of Soul Sessions & Regular Guest on Take It To The Table)
“Wheeler Yuta gained momentum throughout the year since leaving Best Friends and joining BCC.”– Savannah Gall (Head Of Scouting Showcase & News Writer)
Solo Sikoa

“There’s nothing more to say…its Solo!” – Chaos (Host of Take It To The Table)
