After the recent news from Ring of Honor, fans of independent and/or women’s wrestling will be happy to hear that independent stars Trish Adora and Willow Nightingale wrestled matches on AEW Dark: Elevation at the Charway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Trish Adora has only been wrestling for four years, but she quickly risen the ranks. She’s been listed number one in the BWI 500, number 18 in PWI Women’s top 150, and number 44 overall in PWI top 500 (this is 4 places higher than Seth Rollins) this year. She has had two championship runs. GCW Women’s title for 762 days, and she is the current Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling World Champion for 642 days. Huge feats, no doubt.
Willow Nightingale has gained a huge following in wrestling spaces. She’s performed on AEW Dark before and is a multi-time champion, recently she has Solo Darling held the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas Champion for 228 days. As of today, she is the very first Extreme Annihilation Wrestling Women’s Champion. She was 57 on the PWI Women’s top 150. She’s wrestled incredible inter-gender and women’s matches in GCW, ROH, MLW, SHIMMER, and many other indie promotions.
Unfortunately, they both lost their matches. Trish Adora lost to Riho and Willow Nightingale and Erica Leigh lost to Tay Conti and Anna Jay. This episode of Elevation will air Monday night at 7pm ET on the AEW YouTube channel.
Although, there is absolutely no guarantee that they will be signed, after Jay Lethal’s signing there has been a lot of excitement and speculation on where these incredible women will end up next. Both these women would be huge signings for AEW’s women’s division. Either could be new, believable challenges to the women of AEW.
