WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H has announced that Clash At The Castle was a massive success for WWE. The event was a landmark in WWE’s modern era breaking several records for sales.
WWE held the Clash At The Castle premium live event of September 3rd from Cardiff, Wales. The event was first of it’s scale in UK in nearly 30 years.
WWE’s Chief Content Officer and EVP of talent relations, Triple H has now revealed how successful the show was for WWE. Hunter took to twitter posting about the ‘historical’ event. He said that the CATC was a ‘massive success for WWE across all lines of businesses.’
Clash At The Castle generated largest gate ever for an European event. While it was also largest viewed non-US PPV/PLE in WWE history. Tweet also included that WWE Castle was trending no. 1 on twitter.
The event also recorded most merchandise sales for any non-Wrestlemania WWE event ever. The press conference following the main show gave WWE’s youtube highest concurrent audience of any non pre-show.
Triple H also mentioned a question in his tweet, “Where should we go next?”. While it may not be that deep, the idea that can be driven is that WWE may be holding more overseas events in future.
Saudi Arabia already has a 2 shows per anum deal with company. WWE has previously organized special events in Australia. They also plan to launch NXT Europe next year. Considering the success of Clash At The Castle, this certainly doesn’t look to be a bad idea on their part.
