The industry of Joshi Puroresu has reached new heights during the last couple of years, mainly due to the incredible amount of young and emerging talents this business has. For this article, Tomas will be reflecting on the 10 wrestlers he considers are the future top stars of Joshi Puroresu.

2022 was definitely a fantastic year for the entire pro wrestling world. And Japan is no exception, since many top promotions continued to deliver iconic, historic and memorable moments throughout the entire year.

However, I could say that one of the most important aspects for this success was the huge amount of young and rising stars that emerged in the entire Japanese wrestling scene.

For this list I just want to focus on Joshi Puroresu. It is no secret that this industry is constantly evolving and presenting more and more talented wrestlers that have the potential to become future megastars. So today I will be naming those that I consider are the most promising stars in Joshi Puroresu today and that will surely become the main faces of the industry in the coming years.

DISCLAIMER: Please keep in mind that this is just my personal opinion, and that it is actually pretty hard to name just ten wrestlers of a constantly evolving industry that continuously offers a lot of young and talented new stars.

So, with nothing else to add, let’s begin ranking the 10 Joshi Stars who are the future of Joshi Puroresu:

Honorable Mention 1 – Aoi (Just Tap Out)

Aoi, 20 years old, is considered by many as one of the future top stars in Joshi Puroresu. Having great technical wrestling and striking skills, AOI amazes fans everytime she steps into the ring with her original character and never disappoints in giving the crowd an enjoyable show. Even though she still has some things to polish, Aoi has completely surpassed the standard of what a wrestler could achieve within its first years of professional experience. Remaining true to her motto, she always makes a statement by making the fans believe her words when she says ‘Just Look At Me’.

With all of this being said, there is no doubt that we can all expect to see big things from Aoi in the coming years.

Honorable Mention 2 – Kaho Matsushita (Ice Ribbon)

Kaho Matsushita is someone who could say has been one of the biggest breakout stars in Joshi Puroresu during the past year. After completing a year of professional experience this past November, Kaho delighted fans with her incredible talent and solid performances throughout the entire year, while also proving everyone that she has all that it takes to be one of the top stars not only in Ice Ribbon, but in the entire Joshi Puroresu world in general.

I am personally very excited to see what 2023 has in store for Kaho Matsushita because, if she keeps up with the hard work, sky’s the limit for this talented 19 years old wrestler.
