Announced on Twitter today by Tony khan that Tony Nese has officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.
Tony Nese was released by WWE on June 25. Nese first appeared in AEW when he was shown in the crowd on the October 23 edition of AEW Dynamite where he was called “one of the hottest free agents in wrestling,” and then worked the AEW Dark tapings at Universal Studios on October 24.
On October 27, Nese told interviewer Chris Van Vliet that he had signed with AEW on agreed to appear contract.
AEW has talent signed to a tier 0 contract (“agreed to appear”) and will move them up to a tier 1 contract (base contract agreement), which is often indicated by the “All Elite” graphic on social media. This means Tony Nese officially signed a tier 1 contract with All Elite Wrestling. You can find EVP Cody Rhodes’ explanation of how tier contracts work in AEW by clicking here.
Tony Nese will go against Sammy Guevara for the TNT title on the 12/3 edition of AEW Rampage.
