AEW President Tony Khan has recently praised CM Punk’s work in AEW, while also refusing to comment on a potential on-screen return.
The entire pro wrestling community is still buzzing about the events that happened on the AEW All Out Post Event Media Scrum, which found CM Punk and The Elite in a heated backstage altercation that led to the suspension of both sides.
Even though things had calmed down for a while, the recent buzz over The Elite’s return on this Saturday’s AEW Full Gear PPV has once again led many fans to wonder about CM Punk and his future with the company.
Earlier today, AEW President Tony Khan held this year’s Full Gear Media Call and addressed on a variety of topics. In one of these, he put the focus on CM Punk and praised him for all of his work and contributions to the company. Additionally, when consulted about Punk’s future in AEW, Tony Khan said:
“I can’t comment on that. I have nothing but positive things to say about the contributions CM Punk has made in AEW on screen and I certainly have a lot of positive things to say about the things he did in AEW to date, but I do understand why you’d ask and I appreciate you asking.”

In addition to this, Tony Khan also addressed on if he knew what Punk was going to say during the All Out Media Scrum a few months ago. When consulted about this, Tony Khan said:
“You were, I don’t wanna comment beyond this but you were sitting five feet and I did not know… No I did not know [that Punk was going to go on a rant], but I will not comment beyond that except to say I had Keith and Swerve coming up right after that and I had Toni Storm after that and I had important stuff to talk to them about.”
