Tony Khan has recently addressed on Thunder Rosa and the AEW Women’s World Title, claiming he is considering stripping her of the title.
All Elite Wrestling are currently preparing to host Full Gear, their final PPV event of the year. With many interesting storylines and matches on the card, AEW is definitely aiming to deliver one of their biggest event of the year.
With Full Gear set to take place this Saturday, November 19th, the company has held the AEW Full Gear Media Call earlier today. During the Media Call, AEW President Tony Khan took the opportunity to address on a variety of topics.
In one of these topics, Tony Khan opened up about the current situation of the AEW Women’s World Title and its injured lineal champion, Thunder Rosa. About this, Khan reflected on the possibilities of crowning Interim Champion Toni Storm as the lineal champion and strip Thunder Rosa from the title.
He said: “It’s something we have considered. It’s something to consider. I’m still weighing the pros and cons. Thunder Rosa’s a great wrestler, and it’s unfortunate that she’s injured. It’s kept her out a long time.
Tony Khan concluded by stating that “It’s not an easy situation. And I try to take everything on a case-by-case basis, and am trying to give Thunder Rosa every opportunity to come back and defend the championship. But eventually, you would have to crown a lineal champion.” (H/T WrestlingInc)
Tony Khan, Thunder Rosa, Toni Storm & The Future Of The AEW Women’s World Championship
Since neither Tony Khan -or Thunder Rosa- have given a specific date for the champion’s return, the future of the AEW Women’s World Title is still unknown. Additionally, AEW’s Interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm has recently criticized the company’s decision of having an Interim Women’s World Title.
So, we can be sure that the company will have to make an important decision about this in the near future. In the meantime, Toni Storm will be defending the AEW Interim Women’s World Title against former friend Jamie Hayter this Saturday night at Full Gear.
