TJPW Star Miyu Yamashita has recently defeated AEW Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa, earning a future title shot when she returns to the US.
It was announced during last month that the reigning AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa was heading back to Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling, where she was scheduled to take on the always tough Miyu Yamashita.
Their match was built up with a huge expectation, since it was rumored that AEW had plans of Yamashita challenging Rosa for the title in AEW television.
All this expectation of a possible Championship Match between both of them even got to the point where ‘La Mera Mera’ herself stated that, if Yamashita defeated her in Japan, she would put the AEW Women’s World Title on the line when the Japanese star returned to the US.
Now, after finally facing each other at TJPW’s Summer Sun Princess event, Miyu Yamashita has defeated the AEW Women’s World Champion and earned herself a future opportunity for the title.

It is important to mention that Yamashita had already made a tour to America back in May. During that time, she wrestled twice for Prestige Wrestling and debuted on AEW Dark- she teamed up with Skye Blue to take on Nyla Rose and Serena Deeb.
As of right now, it is expected that Yamashita will return to Prestige Wrestling in September, so we’ll have to wait a few months to see her challenge Rosa.
However, we could expect big things if these two talents faced each other again.
