Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews, the AEW World Trios Champions, will first defend their championships against The Elite (Kenny Omega & the Young Bucks) and the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, & Daniel Garcia).
This week’s program featured a trios match in which Jericho, Guevara, and Garcia defeated AR Fox and Top Flight. Jericho then called out House of Black and proclaimed his team the new top contenders. Instead of House of Black coming out it was The Elite who showed up. Later, The House of Black showed up and threw the gauntlet at both trios for next week’s dynamite.
In addition, to commemorate his 27th birthday, MJF will have his re-Bar Mitzvah following his illustrious title defense against Bryan Danielson at AEW Revolution.
In an open challenge, Jade Cargill will also defend her TBS Title. Since she has defeated every competitor in AEW, her requirement is that the fighter is from Canada.
The AEW All-Atlantic Championship will formally become the AEW International Championship on the March 15, 2023, episode of AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan, the owner of AEW, made the initial announcement of the shift on the Dynamite episode from March 8. Khan claims that the championship’s name change is an effort to promote the upcoming Shazam: Wrath Of The Gods film, which will be released on March 17 on Friday. DC Comics trademark Shazam is a Warner Bros. Discovery production.
On the March 8 edition of dynamite, QT marshall made his return by helping Powerhouse Hobbs defeat Wardlow to capture the TNT Title. After being teased on dynamite for months the first episode of QTV will premiere next week on dynamite.
When the All-Atlantic title was first announced in June of last year, PAC won it at Forbidden Door later that month. The second winner is Orange Cassidy, who triumphed over PAC on the October 12 Dynamite episode.
The title will continue to be held by Orange Cassidy, who will defend it against Jeff Jarrett on March 15 for the first time. On Dynamite, Jeff Jarrett attacked Cassidy after his successful title defense against his stablemate Jay Lethal.
