Game Changer Wrestling, an independent company owned by Brett Lauderdale is looking to be one of the few companies to actually hold an event in the Hammerstein Ballroom. The Hammerstein Ballroom as a wrestling venue grew in popularity with ECW, Some events for WWE’s ECW were run there as well. The Company that ran the most events within the Hammerstein ballroom was Ring Of Honor along with some ROH and NJPW collaborated events. Game Changer Wrestling becomes the first to hold an event since the Covid 19 Pandemic started as well as the first since September of 2019.
Based on a tweet from @ WrestleTix, GCW had officially sold out the event, selling full capacity at 2025 tickets, without having a single match announced on November 26th of last year.
“The WRLD on GCW” has become a series of events that started in 2020 for GCW, holding one before the pandemic, and two others including one in their 24 hour broadcast of all wrestling “Fight Forever” Past main events including… Blake Christian Vs Joey Janela, Nick Gage Vs Nate Webb, and Rickey Shane Page Vs Blake Christian.
The WRLD On GCW 2022 features a total of 10 matches with two being on the pre-show that is sponsored by Pabst Blue Ribbon and Orange Crush.
The Pre-show Matches are:
- Scramble Match: Grim Reefer Vs Alex Zayne Vs Dante Leon Vs Nick Wayne Vs Ninja Mack Vs Jack Cartwheel. (More might be added)
- Pabst Blue Ribbon Battle Royal with nobody announced, But there are announcements all over GCW’s Twitter saying who is coming to the Ballroom without being announced for a match already.
The main card features a variety of talent as this is a hot independent show to start the year off for wrestling and for GCW in general.
