The NWA is a promotion that is commonly used as the butt of a joke in today’s landscape. And with good reason. A promotion that decides to have Tyrus as there champion for over a year deserves to be made fun of. However, there is a slight thing about it that somewhat grinds my gears. Sure, the promotion is prone to making a lot of mistakes, but we shouldn’t ignore the great talent left that the company possesses. Obviously, it’s not nearly as good as the 2019 roster, which featured stars such as LA Knight and Nick Aldis, but there’s still an honest group of good wrestlers that I’m going to shine light on in this article. There’s a few diamonds in the rough in the NWA, so I hope this article can bring your attention to them.
5. Aron Stevens
Ever since signing with the company in 2019, the former Damien Sandow has always been an amusing figure in the NWA. He’s one of the wrestlers in the promotion who you could naturally enjoy, no matter what role he is in. While he is currently serving as the manager for the team known as Blunt Force Trauma, he remains the clear highlight whenever the trio is present.
4. Colby Corino
The current NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion is someone who deserves much more credit. The son of Steve Corino is currently doing very well at living up to his potential. He’s great in the ring and is serving his title well. With 18 defences of that title at the time of writing it, it’s clear that they have confidence in Corino’s abilities. Out of everyone featured on this list, I would confidently say that this man right here is the most consistent in the ring overall.
The second-generation star is also a frequent feature on DPW, a place where a lot of his best battles have happened.
3. Max The Impaler
Max The Impaler is a great beast in whatever division they want to take apart of. Whether it’s dominating both the male and female TV title divisions in the NWA or working as a foreign monster in TJPW, they excel at whatever role they’re given. As an overall package, Max has star written all over them. From the unique horror presentation to her great in-ring prowess, they really are a wrestler to look out for.
