It seems two wrestlers have declined to make an appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble.
When it was announced that Mickie James would be making an appearance at this year’s Royal Rumble, the wrestling world was shocked, as James’s is currently the Impact Knockouts Champion and WWE acknowledged it. With James being let go by the company last year and now returning for the Rumble, people are speculating who else was asked to make an appearance at the Premium Live Event (PLE).
According to Fightful, two wrestlers who were released last year, were asked to make a return at the Rumble but declined the offer. They were the Impact Knockout’s Tag Team Champions: The IInspiration (Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee) formerly The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) were offered the chance to make a return but ended up declining, as Fightful would state the pair “Didn’t feel it was the right time” to make their way back to the WWE as they were settled with their current course in wrestling.
Fightful would ask Impact Wrestling about the appearance and Impact would state to Fightful that the appearance would have to be “Signed off on and approved by the company” and be a similar deal to the one James’s is working with for her Rumble appearance.
As Well, Fightful reported that Lee and Cassie, were not the only ones asked to make an appearance from the large wave of releases last year, although no names were mentioned in their report.
