WrestleMania is no stranger to having celebrities appear at the show. Celebrities & athletes alike such as Mike Tyson, Rob Gronkowski, Pamela Anderson, Muhammad Ali have all made appearances at the PPV with Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. former NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor (who main evented WrestleMania XI against Bam Bam Bigelow) even competing at the event. Last year musician Bad Bunny was the latest in the line of celebrities to compete in the ring in a match where he earned solid praise for his wrestling skills. So, it comes as no surprise that there is now speculation that Johnny Knoxville is set compete at this year’s WrestleMania.

On his recent Wrestling Observer Radio show, Dave Meltzer has said WWE will bring in Johnny Knoxville for a shot at the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 38.

Johnny Knoxville has been making appearances in the WWE recently promoting his latest film Jackass Forever whilst also feuding with Sami Zayn on SmackDown. Johnny Knoxville already competed in the WWE last month, Knoxville appeared at the Royal Rumble PPV where he took part as one of the participants in the Rumble match itself entering at Number 9 before he was eliminated by Sami Zayn.

Spoiler Warning ahead:

WWE taped this week’s episode of SmackDown due to travel commitments for the upcoming Elimination Chamber PPV set to take place in Saudi Arabia. At the SmackDown taping Sami Zayn beat Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship. Although nothing has been confirmed at this point the title win for Sami may suggest his feud with Johnny Knoxville will continue for a little while longer with a potential match at WrestleMania for the Intercontinental Championship between the two being touted.

It’s pretty clear that the actor has high hopes for his victory, taking shots at both Roman Reigns and Big E and proclaiming himself a champion. While it has yet to be addressed by WWE on social media or on the Day 1 pay-per-view, it’s likely that they will soon to make it official. Knoxville will likely only be in the bout for a short period before being tossed out. It remains to be seen if they plan to build towards his appearance in the weeks leading up to the match. If they do, fans can expect his trademark buffoonery to ensue.
