Reddit insider kermit125, who gained an interesting reputation by giving some important pro wrestling information on the past, has recently shared some notes with new updates on WWE’s plans for both Night 1 and 2 of WrestleMania.
On one of this notes, he states that WWE has made the decision that Kevin Owens segment with Steve Austin would close Night One of WrestleMania. This obviously points that both men will eventually face each other on the Grandest Stage Of Them All and that, according to this new information, their match will also be the main event on Saturday Night.
The fact of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s in-ring return is not a surprise at all, since current AEW commentator Jim Ross reported on his podcast that Austin had begun training for this year’s event.
This way, The Texas Rattlesnake will return to the squared circle at the age of 57, after being forced to retire back in 2003 due to suffering some knee issues and a complicated neck injury. Back in the day he became a 6-time WWE Champion, 2-time Intercontinental Champion, 4-time Tag Team Champion, Million Dollar Champion, King of the Ring (1996), and the only man to win the Royal Rumble for a record three times.
Meanwhile, this will be Owens’s sixth appearance at The Showcase Of The Immortals. Having faced opponents of the caliber of Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins and longtime friend Sami Zayn to name a few.
WrestleMania 38 will be a two-night spectacular airing on April 2nd & 3rd from the AT & T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. You can watch the event on Peacock (U.S) and on WWE Network internationally.
