Shawn Spears Addresses Cassie Lee’s In-Ring Future

Shawn Spears and Cassie Lee are 100% focused on parenthood as they await their first child, but Spears doesn’t rule out Cassie Lee’s return.

It’s been months since fans last saw Cassie Lee of the IInspiration in a wrestling ring. Earlier this year in April, Cassie and her tag partner Jessie McKay announced they would be stepping away from wrestling.

While not disclosing anything, the duo desired to pursue other interests outside of the wrestling ring. Jessie McKay is set to appear in her first feature-length film, while Cassie Lee is on an entirely different adventure.

She announced in August that she and her husband, Shawn Spears, were expecting their first child, later announcing a boy. Like Cassie Lee, Shawn Spears has been away from the wrestling ring for an extended period of time.

He returned earlier this month and revived his “Perfect 10” gimmick from WWE but has not been seen much since. Shawn Spears recently answered fan questions at K&S Wrestlefest and disclosed information on his and Cassie’s futures.

Will Cassie Lee Ever Wrestle Again?

Answering questions for K&S Wrestlefest, Shawn Spears was asked about his wife’s in-ring future. His response may be disappointing to fans of The IInspiration, but Shawn remains hopeful.

“Right now, it’s just all about being a mom, same with me. Dad first, everything else second.”

With everything going on in the world right now, it makes sense that Cassie Lee and Shawn would prioritize family. Despite this news, Spears is hopeful that we have not seen the last of Cassie Lee in the ring.

“Ask her again in like six months. It might be different,” he said. “People change, and they change their opinions all the time.” (H/T WrestlingNews.com)

In their last run, Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay worked for Impact Wrestling and quickly established themselves as a dominant force. The duo won the Knockouts tag titles in October 2021 but would later lose the belts the following March.

The two wrestled their last match at Impacts Rebellion pay-per-view in April in a losing effort against The Influence.
