According to reports from Wrestling Inc. and Fightful News. The “Nature Boy” Ric Flair was granted his release from World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

The 16 time world champion has not wrestled since 2011 but has been with WWE since 2012.

Sources from Fightful Select stated that Flair had grown frustrated with booking decisions and had contacted Vince McMahon to voice his issues and asked for his release.

Flair was last featured in a storyline with Lacey Evans and his daughter, Charlotte Flair back in January of this year. The storyline was ended due to Evans’ real life pregnancy.

Charlotte would end up sending Flair home after it was revealed that Flair was not the “father” of Evans’ unborn child.

Back in May of this year, Flair had commented that he was not a fan of the storyline but did state, “he couldn’t win an argument with Vince McMahon.”

The sources from Fightful did state that Flair’s issues with the booking were “fairly recent.”

Flair who is 72 years old now, may not be looking into working for another wrestling company but with future son-in-law, Andrade El Idolo working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW) along with Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard, you have to wonder if the “Nature Boy” makes that jump.
