There have been reports making the rounds that some of the 18 talent released recently by the WWE were released due to their unvaccinated status.
The New York Post is reporting that Nia Jax was released due to the fact she is not vaccinated. Now the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that at least 5 but possibly more of the 18 talent released were released due to their unvaccinated status. However, none of the released talent was told this as the specific reason. As of now, the reason why the WWE has suddenly took a hard line on vaccinations is unclear.
However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik asked for their release from WWE.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is also reporting that Karrion Kross was due to be repackaged yet again prior to his release and that B-Fab was believed to have signed a new contract recently, but was still part of those 18 releases. Eva Marie however was already planned to be off TV as she was filming a movie.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter also adds that the WWE are considering implementing 60-day trial contracts when signing talent in the future. However, bigger names and indie stars would still get normal contracts.
